"Lovely homely hotel, friendly staff.. Stepped off train, right into hotel.. Noise from passing trains didn't bother us even with window open all night.. Room compact but everything we needed.. Shower only cold water in morning but staff member apologised & got someone on to it.. Food in bar amazing & breakfast so tasty, 1 of best we've ever had.. Will defo be back.."

"For some reason it had a bit of a dormitory feel to it. Everything was a bit old and one of the mattresses was bowed. It is so cheap though. It’s clean and the front desk staff was great. If you just need an inexpensive spot this is the place to go. No breakfast except a brown sack thing. We just went to Costa across the parking lot."

"The hotel is probably as good as it gets in Kirriemuir. It’s a strange little hotel and many of the rooms are outwith the main building. The fan in the bathroom didn’t work, the window didn’t open and the heating was on - though it was summer! However the food was good and the staff were marvellous."

"The location was perfect, right at the top with easy access to all of the city. It had an amazing view and was quite quaint. The service was top notch. She greeted us as we arrived and made sure we knew everything about the place and gave us help to find anything else in the city. The room was quite spacious and had an actual King size bed. The shower had its own water thing, and it worked wonderfully. The room was clean and well kept. In the morning the breakfast was very good and had everything we needed. I would stay here again."

"The room was clean enough but it is an Old Building . The meals were great and very enjjoyble. but the staff were absolutely SUPERB. It is a family owned and run Hotel and you could not wish for better attention or Help.No it is not 5 star but the Staff make up for the Minor faults. thank you all for a Very Pleasant stay. Haakon."

"Our fist visit to Montrose. Lovely hotel which met all our needs in terms of friendliness, cleanliness, amenities and location. We had a very plentiful, tasty breakfast. Great atmosphere in the evening when there was a live band and a busy function suite. Have already recommended this hotel and this town to friends."
