Top Desolation Sound Marine Provincial Park Hotel Reviews
Ramada by Wyndham Campbell River
2/10 Terrible
"I would never stay here again. The place was filthy and falling apart. Drywall falling apart, door falling off the hinges, carpet torn and fraying, floor was not washed and bedsheets were dirty. We asked for another room but the 2nd room was just as bad and on the 3rd floor with burnt out lightbulbs and filthy hallway. I took lots of videos but not photos so can not post them on this form. I was blown away by the condition of the place. Would never stay here again!!"
"The hotel was recently renovated. Our room was small but very comfortable. Limited parking spots. A short walk from the ferry. The Sunday morning desk clerk very friendly and helped us find a great place to eat. There were no elevators to the two story hotel."
"There was a large group checking un when we arrived. We had to leave and come back, as everyone at the front desk was helping and 1 coild not stop just to process our checkin. Was a bit tight for us getting to our event, and would have been very helpful had 1 of the front desk people been able to help us."
"Our stay at the resort felt like stepping into a dream we didn’t want to wake up from. From the moment we arrived, everything seemed designed for quiet romance and effortless comfort. The staff welcomed us with genuine warmth, and it set the tone for the entire experience.
Waking up beside my girlfriend to the soft morning light and the sound of nature just outside our balcony was something special. We spent slow mornings sipping tea with a view that didn’t feel real, and unhurried afternoons exploring the grounds, finding little pockets of beauty everywhere, hidden gardens, serene pools, and perfect spots to just sit together and exist.
What made it unforgettable wasn’t just the luxury (though everything—from the room to the food—was exceptional), but how easy it was to feel connected. Whether we were sharing quiet dinners at CARVE meatery, or laughing over nothing in particular, the resort created a space where time slowed down and everything else faded away.
If you’re looking for a place to reconnect, celebrate love, or simply escape the noise of everyday life with someone who matters deeply to you, this is it. We left with full hearts, incredible memories, and already talking about when we can come back."
"hot breakfast was bare minimum, avg. sausage, scrambled egg(ish?) and potato. toast, waffle, juice and coffee. none of the handy continental breakfast staples like fresh fruit, muffins, yogurt, and all the usual items. ie, nothing you could take out with you to maybe enjoy later or in your room. you can order off the menu for a discount, but now your paying for something that's basically supposed to be included. We thought this room was on the high side for what is a very basic room. This property is about to be branded a Best Western we were told. If the prices go up, which is probably likely, it will fall out of our value picks."
"We did not use any services. The booking on line led to many problems . I thought the sight offered a King bed or two Queens. I Chose the King bed but denied the offer of two Queen beds. The original room was about a 5 min. Walk to the end of the second floor. I phoned and complained and they very kindly gave us a similar room closer to the elevator.
We did not get a King bed as advertised and there was a Large addtional charge for our room at time of payment on line. We might have saved a small amount by going through Travelocity but there was an add on at time of booking as well the Hotel added a Large deposit ( refundable) for damages . All this and we did not get what I asked for….a King bed. The Hotel blamed this on booking on line. They had not been told of the optiongiven to me. I will not be using Travelocity in the future! "
