Very good hotel

The hotel itself is somewhat lacklustre- rooms are Cold and stark…. No artwork or anything…hallways look like army barracks and it’s loud because there’s nothing at all to absorb sound. Pool is nice, beach too, good location Breakfast buffet is good, lots of choices. Dinner buffet is not worth having…. Was disappointing. Pretty lobby, staff at check in were friendly and helpful.

Great location on South Beach. In the middle of all the art deco hotels. Reception very helpful. Rooms clean & tidy, huge TV on mirrored wall. Water supplied in room & Beach towels provided in reception. No bar at the moment. Basic tea & coffee available. Breakfast is out the back in sister hotel President hotel. 30second walk. Basic buffet breakfast , hot & cold, sets you up for the day exploring the area. You can use the rooftop pool at The President , small but useful. Would I stay at The Penguin again, possibly. The location is superb for walking to the bar’s & restaurants down towards South Point & the other way Collins Ave & Lincoln Rd shops are 5 mins walk away.
