Staff behaviour was little impolite. All amenities thats has been mentioned at the time of booking were not available at the hotel. Geyser was not at all functioning. No matter how many times that i raised the issue with the management, they did nothing.

Dirty room, a bit of a walk to train station
I stayed here for two nights before heading to Agra. When i checked in, the bathroom was not clean and the sheets and towels all had stains and marks on it. Maybe just a common theme with 3 star hotels in India but this was a little bit worse. The hotel is also a bit of a walk to the train station and in a pretty sketchy area too. There are better options out there.

Great hotel, value for money, very pleasant staff
Although the hotel is in a little shady location in paharganj, service was great and staff were very helpful. Hot water, air conditioning was great. Room had one minor issue, it smelt a little of naphthalene balls which were used in adjacent washroom. Will stay again regardless.

Nice hotel, as expected
Hotel is central and close to the most important sites. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beds very comfortable, and the breakfast was good.

Comfortable hotel at a good price

Fabulous rooms at a very minimal price, ideal location, good food, and the best aspect of this hotel was the very warm and friendly staff who made us feel very welcome, and went out of their way to help us.

Mediocre at best
Cons: walls, blinds were filthy; furniture was dusty; wi-fi was weak; staff never cleaned our room during a 3~night stay; walls were very thin so the room was noisy. Pros: Close to the main train station — within walking distance if you don’t mind a stroll through filth and chaos. Front desk staff was helpful. A/C worked well. By international standards it rates 0 stars; by Indian standards it’s a bit below average.

If you are looking for a hotel on a budget, this hotel is your answer. I stayed at optimum for 8 days and I only have great things to say about this hotel and the staff! I am half Indian, half Nepali, from California, USA. I came to Delhi alone for my wedding shopping. I was looking for a safe hotel in a convenient location. I came across Optimum baba hotel on Expedia and loved the reviews. Being aware of the risks of a woman traveling alone in India , I was a little nervous about staying in Delhi by myself, but my concerns were soon put to ease by the staff. They went up and beyond to make my stay comfortable~from checking up on me regularly to helping me find the right people for all my wedding shopping needs~they even went to the extent of finding me a stitching lady who could stitch all my wedding clothes in a short time. All the staff are pleasant and super helpful and I honestly can not thank them enough for all their help, but I want to give a special shot out to Vishal (the chef), Kuddues (room service) and Vijay (the front desk receptionist). Vishal's food is dilicious!! I mostly ate at the hotel. and didn't get sick once. He was a great friend and always made sure that my belly was full with yummy food. Another HUGE shout out to Kuddus. He is the nicest guy who always has a big smile on his face. I was freaking out about my extra luggage and packing on my last day. He was so kind to get me the weighing machine and help me pack.

Hotel was ok
The neighbourhood is not appealing at all but the hotel itself was ok. The restaurant food was great but the restaurant area could be improved appearance wise. The stuff organised a cab guy for us who wasn't very helpful & ended up conning us so hopefully they improve on the services they help setup otherwise the stay was ok

Wonderful experience
Had a wonderful experience - very clean and cozy room, the beds were huge and the bathroom was of a good size. English TV channels available. The staff was wonderful, providing us with all the tourist information we asked for, and making reservations for tours and taxis.

Good-value hotel
Well appointed room, but the beds were not so comfortable to sleep in so it was somewhat disappointing for us. The bathroom was huge and shower was excellent. We found the staff to be helpful and friendly. We would stay here again, but probably need to change your beds selections.

Ideally located & super clean rooms
I had a super clean room on the second floor. Very well equipped with good beds and a clean bathroom. The food was delicious, the staff a bit slow especially at the time of departure otherwise, were very helpful. The hotel is ideally located, about a 15-20 stroll to the main market where there are lots of shops and restaurants.

A good stay overall
Conveniently located and everything is within a short walk. We did not eat food in the hotel as there are many good restaurants nearby which was affordable and served good food. The beds were nice, not too hard. The slight downside was the room was a bit small for us and the windows did not open properly apart from a good stay overall.

Nicest budget hotel I've stayed in
Definitely the nicest budget hotel I have ever stayed in. The rooms were spotlessly clean and atmosphere was very nice. An added bonus is that it is within walking distance of the train station and many metro stations are only 15 minutes walk away.

Honor what the booking clearly says.
I booked late night from an airport and my booking clearly said 11pm to 11pm (24 hours). But upon arrival at the hotel, at 4am, the receptionist said it would only be until noon (8 hours). Had no alternative so settled for 1pm (9 hours). Just want the hotel to honor what the booking says.

Fantastic hotel in a great location
There are a lot of hotels in the Paharganj area and the choice is plenty. The hotel is on a quiet side street and away from the noise. The room we had was clean and perfect for us. The bathroom too was fantastic. Above all the staff are very helpful in particular Vijay who spoke excellent English. I will not hesitate to come back here.

Perfect for a night or two
Good hotel but would not recommend for a long stay especially when you staying with your family, but perfect for a night or two for the couples. The room was very small but it was perfect for two people and great value. Hotel was located a few minutes walk from the train station, and close to many fine and affordable restaurants, which is a good choice if you do not want to eat in the hotel.

Below average - 1 to avoid
Didn't seem equipped for foreign visitors, spoken little english, and offered no advice about Delhi, other than booking us a taxi for the day - with a driver who also spoke little english. Located in a very suspect area, with lots of men hanging around the streets. Room was actually OK, other than the air-con smell, which was either cleaning products, or damp clothes. Was also construction work going on all day everyday, which meant we couldn't even relax in the room

It is certainly one of the best budget hotels in the Paharganj area. Room and staff were superb. Room service was excellent and delivered on time. Good location, very central and convenient to the city and train station. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and colleagues.

Wonderful hotel
Our room was at the back of the hotel, so it was very quiet and very clean. The location is brilliant as its in a great part of the city and within easy walking distances of pretty much all we like to see and do. The staff are very happy to give good recommendations of what to see and where to go.

From its friendly - efficient staff to nice rooms, this hotel is a great option to stay .. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, we ate at 3 of the restaurants and all were excellent.. The front desk staff was so knowledgeable and very helpful..

The location of the hotel is excellent, and the room was spacious with a nice minibar, comfortable bed and a good clean bathroom. The room service selection was somewhat limited, but the quality of the food was good.

Decent hotel near the main train station, about a 15 minute walk to Connaught Place and the standard tourist shops and restaurants. As a tourist I would have preferred to be closer to Connaught Place.

Great base for exploring the city
Great place to make base if you are exploring the city of Delhi. Only 25 minutes by taxi from the airport and 15 minutes from the old town. Room was well equipped and the food (room service) was very, very good.

Excellent and memorable stay
I especially liked the proximity of the hotel to the city center and he attractions. Housekeeping staff were good and they kept our room up to the standard. We ordered room service once and it was fast and served very tasty food.

Very good hotel
Very good hotel considering the quality of the services and the price. It is located close to the train station and the city center. Our room was very comfortable and clean. And the staff was professional and warm with all the guests. The hotel does not have a restaurant but you can find several food options nearby.

Good accommodation for short stays
Not too fancy, but not too simple accommodation. The price was very low, so do not expect too much from this hotel, but yes, the room was fine according to the price we paid. The staff was very attentive to all our needs, and the location was very good, close to the train station, and the city center is also not too far away.

Hotel on a narrow street difficult to walk
We were told the room would be kept for us for late arrival. But when we arrived, we were taken to another of their hotels closeby called Shri Vinayak. The change made it difficult for us to coordinate with people who thought we were at Optimum Baba. The room at Shri Vinayak did not have a functioning shower head, so we had to change room next day. There were no toilet paper, no bottled water, no fresh towels, no soap, no housekeeping, sometimes no hot water . . . unless we asked. On the web at expedia.com, it says it offers free bottled water; at checkout, the bottled water was charged. There was no blow-dryer and outlet convertor. We tipped generously hotel staff every time they cleaned the room, delivered food, or provided help; we tipped the cab drivers the hotel arranged for us; and we tipped hotel staff who carried our luggage. But the hotel manager seemed angry at checkout and asked me to pay a staff member standing by who was not the one who carried our luggage when we already tipped the right person. He also tried to overcharge us for the food delivered to our room. The experience is very strange and unpleasant.
