We were house hunting in the Ormond area and wanted to take our large dog with us on the trip. This is one hotel that is not biased against large dogs. The hotel is clean, quiet, and in a location of Ormond near quite a few good restaurants. Overall, it's a good choice though maybe a bit too close to the interstate.
Excellent visit. Easy Check-in, the rooms was spacious and very clean. I would stay again when visiting the Ormond Beach/Daytona area.

Trip to the turkey run in Datona
This was a disaster. First off rooms were not ready by 3 pm.
There were 6 people deep to check in & only one person to check in, answer phones etc. W were told come back & checkin around 2 hours. Finally we come back & get a room on the 3rd floor & then find out the elevator was not working.
We are 65 plus in years with 2 total knee replacements, this was not a pleasant experience & took a toll on the both of us...
This hotel was sold out...with one person working....
Then we got to the room to find a large stain on the couch cushion& later we found a stain on our blanket on the bed...
Disgusting....
Looking forward to the grandchildren coming over to spend time with us at the pool ended badly because we found out there was NO pool......
Breakfast had only 4 tables to seat a sold out hotel.???
That was another disaster because the same person was also checking in guest & refilling the breakfast area...
So this trip was a total disaster & certainly not a pleasant experience.....
Online pictures showed nice pool area, there was not any, so while I was taking care of business wife and children could not enjoy pool. Elevator did not work for over an hour upon arrival. Had to wait over thirty minutes to check not enough staff at front desk. Morning breakfast area not maintainted had to run done staff to fill coffee urn add waffle batter. Poorly maintainted building more than half of the lights out in lobby. Some type of electrical problem which made noise in room.
We went for the Turkey Rod run, a huge event that's been happening for 42 yrs. They had one new clerk running the desk to handle all of the people checking in. Tarek, if he didn't quit already, handled it pretty well, but it took a long time to get checked in because the elevator got stuck on the third floor. He had to call 911 since the Manager just told him to call the elevator company. By the time we finally got into our room, after climbing three flights of stairs, we got woken up by the smoke detector going "chirp" every few seconds starting at 1:30 am. Meager breakfast offerings, but at least they had waffles! Won't be going back either.

Nice hotel.
The breakfast was not as advertised, but the room was excellent.
The staff was rude when we checked in. The hallways and room were 90 degrees and the room never cooled down. We found the previous guests clothes in between the sheets of one of our beds. The room was dirty and musty... NEVER again.

Our room window had a crack, the bathroom door, the wood is peeling or needed repairs along with some of the floor board and counter draws.
Was very pleasant stay - only there for one night and there was hardly anyone in the hotel.

Not very clean. I want to only say that but I am required to type a lot more, which is annoying.

Clean but misinformed
The hotel was very nice, however I was very unhappy that I booked it under the impression there was a pool and when I got there it was undercconstruction and closed. Having a pool was one of the necessities of choosing a hotel and I was very disappointed when it was not open and was not informed until I arrived to check in.

Das Personal dürfte freundlicher sein. Hotel liegt sehr nahe bei harley geschäft das ist super.
Hotel was clean and comfortable. The pool was under construction, which the clerk was good enough to let us know ahead of time and offered to put us up at another hotel for the same price. The breakfast was one of the biggest disappointments because of how unattended it was and how little there was to choose from. The location was in a run down area. We would not go back to this hotel just for that reason.
I had to change 3 rooms during my stay here. TV didn't work in one. The AC was horrible in all rooms. Took forever to cool down. In another room they switched me to was not cleaned from the prior residents. So just ended up taking the no tv room. When called they said that they did have a hot tub but failed to say the pool and hot tub was under construction. I love La Quinta hotels but this one was horrible!!!
Was notified at check in pool and jacuzzi was down, ac was not on and did not cool down till overnight. Breakfast was awful.

Disappointing experience
The room was comfortable, but the service was poor. The bed was comfortable, but there was only a sheet on the bed, no comforter or blanket. When I arrived the AC was off, and it took awhile to get cooled down. Since I reserved the room, they should have turned it on prior to my arrival. I had trouble with the cable. I got the tv on but there was only one channel. I asked the desk attendant if I needed a new remote, and he told me that all the remotes were programmed, and the only thing he could do was give me a different room. I also had to ask him about internet access. He seemed reluctant to volunteer any information and had to be questioned. The breakfast was a standard continental fare. The problem was that there did not seem to be anyone refilling anything. A woman had to go to the front counter and ask for more syrup; I'm sure her waffle was going to be cold and rubbery before he refilled the syrup.
We enjoy the room it was really clean, and not far from the beach and different places to eat. We meet a lot of people and they was very nice and told us the best places to eat. Out back Steak house food was great and so was the staff. The beach was nice Saturday morning until noon.
So my family checked in on a Saturday evening as a stop for our visit to the beach the following day. All that we need was a comfortable, clean and quiet place to sleep. This hotel was located behind a Motel 6. And it was very quiet, perhaps underused. The hotel staff that checked me in was okay, but didn't seem friendly. Went up to our room on the 2nd Floor and the room temp was 80°F. There was also an absence of basic toiletries in the bathroom. No big deal since we had our own, and really just needed a place to sleep. Set the Cool On and 3 hours later, it was still 80°F! Too hot to get comfy in a stuffy room. Asked to move to another room and after packing up my family, including a 4 year old, moved to the 4th Floor. The hallway immediately felt hot, stale and stuffy. Walked into the new room at 11:40pm, and it was 93°F!! No way it would get cool enough. I was done. We checked out! Made the 2 hour drive home and ended up missing out on our beach visit.
Not to mention, but my family recently stayed in a very nice 2 bedroom condo resort in Kissimmee with lots of amenities and close to Disney for less per night than the 2 Queen Bedroom at the LQ near the highway without a pool.
Still waiting to hear back from LQ staff.
First of all, we were standing at the front desk of A La Quinta Suites in Daytona/Ormond. Since the rate was a bit better online, we booked the room on the spot. The confirmation came through but it was not the same hotel. Our mistake (and the front desks). Upon arriving at the hotel we had now paid for, the front desk informed us it was under renovation, the pool wasn't operating, and the kitchen was closed. He said there wasn't anything he could do because we had booked through Hotels.com
Pool was shutdown, was one of the deciding factors in choosing the hotel so when we got there and found out it was closed it was a huge letdown. Seems weird to redo the pool during the summer and perhaps if pool is closed they shouldn't advertise pictures of it on the deal. The hallwAys were very hot and the rooms took a very long time to get to a somewhat manageable temperature. The refrigerator was dirty inside.
