Loved the feeling of an older motel that has been very well maintained. Bathroom fixtures are still the solid old chrome, not the cheap new fixtures used today. The room size was amazing. Also appreciated the free coffee maker, tea and water in the room. The bed mattress was also very nice. The people at the front desk were really exceptionally helpful when I learned the airport shuttle doesn't start until 6 AM. My flight was to depart at 5:30 AM. They arranged a taxi. The night I spent there was very quiet but since it is an older motel with a lot less modern sound proofing, I could see a bit of noise if others were loud or had noisy kids. All in all, I'd definitely go back. The sunset over the bay was beautiful.

Solid little hotel with an excellent value compared to other Berkeley properties at the same time of year. I was a bit taken aback at first by the strong smell of Fabuloso and the less than posh surroundings. But the room was very clean with updated flooring and bedding, The hotel is within reasonable walking distance to a Bart station, which made getting around very convenient. There is also free parking if you do have your own car. Nothing fancy - breakfast consisted of coffee, tea and packaged baked goods and soap/shampoo products were cheap quality. Definitely worth considering if you are traveling to the Berkeley/SF area on a budget.
