Very large executive room with beautiful sea view. Staff very helpful. Internet code log in keeps changing but staff were responsive. Location was brilliant- centre down town The only downside was the breakfast was average

Dirty Hotel
The room I was initially given was smelly with dirty towels and linen. So the front desk clerk moved me. That room was also dirty so he moved me yet again to a room this time that had no towels. Then they moved me to the 15th floor, where it seemed to be a different hotel. The room was more modern, clean, and the view was awesome. Judging by all the other guests on my floor it appears management reserves the better rooms for Asians/Indians. I personally would not stay at the facility again.

Excellent room. Very nice swimming pool. The hotel restaurant had a terrific view of the harbour, but the food was a bit mediocre. Good service in the restaurant however. We would stay here again.

Comfortable and convenient
Room was clean and spacious. It is very conveniently located, around 200m from the ferry station to Zanzibar. Only downside was that the AC was a little cold but other than that would recommend staying at Harbour View Suites and would stay again!

Best…Room…Ever (of hotels Ove stayed in past 25 y in Tanzania). Chose the Superior Room when booking, which was a fantastic bargain, even at one of the more expensive hotels in Dar. Also added breakfast, which included omelette made to order and good variety of food. Room was huge, with whirlpool, 2 sinks, fridge, and decent/quiet A/C. On ground floor is a casino (which we avoided) and a decent restaurant with huge variety of food (which we relished). Main drawback was they don’t seem to wash the windows outside often; because Dar is dusty in general, the dirt outside the glass hindered the beautiful view.

As the name says, the hotel has very good harbor views. This is especially so in the restaurant which you should try and have dinner and breakfast.

The hotel was undergoing renovation. They haven’t given the room key also. Every time I have to call the receptionist to assist for opening the door. They have only one master card to open the guest doors.

Excellent hotel with wonderful view on the sea
Harbour View Suites is a pleasant hotel to stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Ingot a bigger room with a beautiful view on the sea. Breakfast is fine; not special but adequate with friendly cook who makes tasty Spanish omelet and staff who prepares good tea. Below, at the back, is a nice restaurant with a good menu with food from different continents. Check in went super fast, but checkout bit less as it too more than 15 minutes to get my invoice due to extremely slow restart of their system; staff remained calm. This needs to be addressed by the owners to buy faster computers. I will for sure come back next time.

Nice hotel in nice location
The room was large and the restaurant food was tasty. The location is good for seeing the main sights in Dar es Saalam. It's also close to the Zanzibar ferry terminal.

Good location
The hotel is near the harbour and in a busy side of town. Most places are easily accessible and you get to walk around the town. It’s on a busy street and no street parking so catching a cab means a short walk to the next block. Wonderful sized rooms and quite comfortable. No robs or house slippers (not good). Breakfast is good with a local flare (very good). I recommend.

Terrible Hotel
Front desk gave me an envelope containing my invoice and change from a cash payment that included no change when opening the envelope while being driven to the airport. After waiting forty mi it’s for drinks from the bar after polite reminders, our gin and tonic actually contained no gin then a cash payment was demanded rather than signing the drinks to a room account. No representation between images of rooms and the actual rooms. Eating here is a food hygiene adventure. The Grand Restaurant in the ground floor shopping mall is a much better, friendlier and health safer option. As I often say when with people whom are not over familiar with travelling on the continent ‘welcome to Africa’ Convenient for the ferry port, better hotels in the CBD.

Location is great. Staff is friendly. food is very good. Room was large & nice. We did not like the "crazy" elevator system, different banks going to different floors, confusing. We did not have hot water in our room. Very annoying not able to shower after a long trip. The staff attempted to fix it without success. Finally they let us take a shower in a different room. Very inconvenient. They call the hotel Harbour View, the only view we had from the room was a bank of Air Conditioning units. Very disappointing. My wife said we should stay in a different place next time.

Location is perfect is your taking the ferry to Zanzibar. There were female prostitutes at the bar. They were sat next to us by the waiter attending the bar. Uncomfortable to say the least.

Meets you basic needs
This hotel is okay. It meets the business traveller’s basic needs in an adequate manner. One issue: when I got to my room, it was as hot as a sauna and took forever to cool down. One compliment: the shuttle is super - clean, modern vehicle and a very service oriented driver. One bit of precision: there’s no actual harbour view from the rooms at the Harbour View Hotel.

The hotel is on the upper floors of a building (9-12?) and has a pool on the 9th floor! It was an enormous room/suite with more space than my apartment at home. Breakfast was nice, and they were happy to help me get ferry tickets and keep my luggage for my jaunt to Zanzibar.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel in Expedia. Just want to clarify that we do not turn off all the lights in the corridor, in fact all the room door lights are turned on 24/7. The ceiling lights are turned off at midnight as we received complaints of too much light coming to the hotel rooms. Regarding safety, we have roving security personnel at all hours of the day and night.

Bar view was great and air conditioning was perfect as it was very hot. Good location to Zanzibar ferry as you could walk to and from. Uber was only 8000TSH from hotel to airport. Hotel was clean. Breakfast was huge however staff at breakfast was not very attentive. Enjoyed my brief stay.

I have seen worse but it could be better...
I arrived close to midnight but was assigned a “bad” room despite booking more than 48 hours in advance. Luckily the concierge did not even allow me to enter the “bad” room- up to now I don’t know what was in that room! My new room was just ok except for a very strong bad smell in the bathroom. Thought the pipe traps in the shower or sink need serious cleaning or upgrading l. I was too tired to complain just needed a bed to pass out on. Good facilities but need better handling and management. Overpriced unless services improve.

Very large spacious room. Ordered room service for breakfast as we were leaving early (which was confirmed) - but didn't arrive. No reply when trying to contact room service. Evening meal in the Hotel was very good and very reasonably priced. Requested a room with a bath, but got a shower!

Staff member st the desk said the use of the shuttle to go to a restsurant would be at no charge.When I left the hotel , there was a $60 charge. I protested, but to no avsil. Assume use of shuttle will be charged no matter what is promised.

We sincerely apologize if you were disappointed regarding the transport charge. It is just strange that when investigated, the staff and the Front Office Manager insisted that you were fully informed regarding the charge. Moreover, providing a car and driver for free to any guest who made the driver wait for him while in a restaurant far from the city does not make good business sense to any hotel. As far as the hotel is concerned, we charged for the service provided. We are sorry if this does not seem fair to you.
