This place is unreal! We booked for 2 nights in the lead up to a hike and was so pleasantly surprised by the guest house. The rooms are dated but clean and have everything you need. Breakfast included was lovely and we enjoyed sitting on the rooftop terrace to enjoy our morning coffee. Location is also great, so close to many great cafes and restaurants short walk to the main square. Pumamarca guest house is great value for money and I would definitely recommend it for anyone needing a comfortable and cheap place to stay in Cusco.
The staff is so helpful that they make you feel like family, the breakfast is good and plentiful. They are always available. It is very close to the center, just a few steps away, and there are laundromats and shops around. It's just a bit cold, I recommend very warm clothing even at night. In Cusco, it gets freezing.
The property was well kept as my room was cleanly and the other areas were tidy and clean as well. The staff were friendly and extremely kind and welcoming. Breakfast was good and I felt comfortable and safe in the house as well as in the area. Heads up to anyone that doesn’t speak Spanish, the staff only speaks Spanish. This isn’t a problem however with my limited Spanish knowledge it was sometimes difficult to understand each other. I had an amazing stay and have no complaints, this is just something to keep in mind because if you speak no Spanish you will find the checking in and out a bit more difficult.
I first stayed at a single room on the third floor and that was lovely and not noisy. But later had to change to the first floor, no view and very very noisy. The walls are extremely thin so you can hear what they are talking about next door. The room was also very very cold! The bed had plenty of blankets so no problem to sleep but the floor was so cold. The owners didn’t speak English but the guy working in the evening does. The breakfast was actually really nice, I appreciate it a lot. It’s on a quiet street very close to the historical center.
This is below a “budget” level hotel. The cold water knob was taped on, there were holes in the tile and we paid $7 US dollars a day for a heater that worked minimally. Breakfast was minimal but adequate. The location is on the edge of a not so nice part of Cusco. If possible, I recommend to avoid staying here.
Convenient location to the main square and not too hilly.
Basic accommodation with warm bedding. Shower wasn’t great and breakfast was just rolls and jam but nice rooftop views
Greeting was good & information about breakfast. Google translate used. Altitude sickness began, they had coca leaves & teas available in the terrace eating room
Decent place. Small but clean rooms. Good service with helpful staff. We didn't have hot shower one night but they fixed it at the end. They let us make our dinner in the kitchen at night which was nice of them ;)
Be aware, if they give you room 102, ask for a change. The hot water in the shower is inconsistent and you would get one minute of hot water and then 5 minutes of cold water and so on, so you would shower for 1 minute and stand in the cold for minutes waiting for the water to get hot again to finish your shower, horrible experience. I stayed for 5 nights so I know what I am talking about.
Everything was great especially for the price, would have been 5 stars if not for the hot water issue.
No hair dryer. No heater in the room and it was very cold. Wifi was weak that one wrong move could get you disconnected. Curtains were falling apart. No plugs in the room so good luck charging your devices.
I had to leave this hotel and rebook someplace else for the night. Long story short, look elsewhere.
