We booked a room with two beds, but when we got there they informed us that they did not have a room with two beds. They had informed me that they had sent me a notification informing me that they didn’t have a room with two beds. Unfortunately, the advance notice didn’t help any, as my friend and I were on the Salkantay 5days/5 nights hike, in which I didn’t have any access to the internet or data on my phone. Plus, on the night of our stay was when we came back from the Machu Picchu hike late at night, and therefore, didn’t have time to stay at another hotel.
The hotel tried to make it up to us by upgrading us to a suite. However, we were two grown adults that needed our own beds. So it wasn’t that helpful. One other thing, the hotel had a funny smell throughout the hotel and rooms.
It was not a horrible stay, hence the 3 stars, but it wasn’t a comfortable one either. I guess you get what you pay for.
