Atholl Palace Hotel

Atholl Palace Hotel

8/10 Good
"When we checked in, the instructions given on how to find our room were vague and we didn’t find it. Doubled back and asked a server and her instructions didn’t work either. My wife went back to the front desk, got different instructions, that also didn’t work. On her way back to the front desk, she found an employee, who had finished work, and walked her around the hotel to show her the room. It had an out side entrance only, but was still attached to the hotel. The mistake was ours, but the room had a lower level, where there was a kitchenet and the bathroom was down the hall. We went back and asked for a room change, that was granted. The price difference was 15 GBP. The new room was comfortable, but very small. No A/C and it was hot. Scotland doesn’t use a sheet, just a heavy comfort blanket, which we didn’t use. Wasn’t a pleasant sleep. The in house restaurant was incredible. Hazel was our server, and what a delight she was. Our wine took a bit to show up and when I asked Hazel, she went and got it. Came back saying, it was her bosses job and put down two very full glasses of wine. I went to the in house pub, that was fun too. Next morning my wife went for a swim at the indoor pool and said it was fine. Also had a sauna, whirlpool and hot tub. The Hotel is over 150 yrs old, but has been updated and apart of a few glitches, our stay was most enjoyable."

Scotlands Spa Hotel

Scotlands Spa Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"I spent two nights at the Spa hotel. I managed to park in the adjacent hotel car park which was very convenient. My room was great with a large TV , coffee machine, fridge and kettle. A proper bath in the en suite. Plenty of hangers. Breakfast was plentiful and a good variety. The only downside of my stay was I was housed in a separate building to the main hotel. This meant I had to walk outside onto the pavement and cross a road to access my room. However you were away from the noise of the main hotel."
