"This is the Grande Dame of Santander, built by the king of Spain to accommodate his guests when he stayed at his summer palace. The hotel certainly lives up to this grand tradition in every way. Apart from the stunning architecture, the service was friendly, but incredibly efficient. They anticipate all of your needs and are looking for ways to make your stay more enjoyable. Breakfast, the casual lunch on the terrace, and the fine dining restaurant are all excellent. The hotel is not in the center of things, but if you’re looking for a restful vacation at a beautiful and well run property, this is an excellent choice."
