Darayonan is located within an easy walk of the waterfront and "main" part of town, and the rooms are just far enough away from the road that they're nice and quiet. Of course you'll hear roosters in the morning, but that's nothing new in the Philippines! The hotel grounds are really nice, with a great refreshing pool, nice bar, and a good breakfast at the restaurant. The balcony from our room got nice morning sun, and the room was comfortable and clean. We had plenty of space to spread out all our wet swimwear and snorkel gear.
My only real complaint about this place was that they offered bird watching tours, which we were excited about and we'd brought binoculars and a big camera lens just for, but when I tried to actually book it they told me it was "exclusive" and asked if I was a professional photographer, and when I said no, I was not allowed to go on the tour. I never fully understood the reason for this (I think some was lost in translation), but it was disappointing, and I lugged a lot of heavy gear for nothing. So, if you stay here and they mention bird watching, just know that you DO need to confirm in advance that you want to go; don't assume you can book it when you get there. This could have been made more clear.
