"I would highly recommend staying somewhere else! The room was absolutely filthy. It had so much water damage, mold, cockroaches, and had a smell of smoke. The place is also next door to a tractor trailer depo and the trucks drive thru the lot non-stop, all you hear are air brakes and loud diesel engines!! We were scheduled for two nights and left. "The Larkspur has great reviews, but as someone who stays in hotels regularly, I was disappointed. I rate it as OK at best. On arrival, the one and only staff person was on a personal call on their cell phone and did not immediately hang up to assist - I waited several minutes to get checked in. Our FIRST room assigned was over 80 degrees, smelled musty, and the AC did not work. Thankfully we were able to move across the hall, where the AC worked at least, but the machine was so loud it kept waking us up. Over all, the hotel looks like it's cleaned regularly, but it could use a deep clean and updates. Carpets need shampooing, bathroom fixtures are covered in scale... I was also not the only customer at the desk complaining about their room on checkin, so it's not just a one-off. Breakfast was just OK. My kid ate it, but I did not bc there were zero proteins (except for eggs with cheese, which I cannot eat). Overnight there is just one staff person, and the times I went downstairs in the evening, they were not visible at the desk, nor did they come out when people were around. This is a security issue on many levels. The environment is quiet, probably because not many folks were there. Won't be choosing this hotel again."
