When we travel we try to stay at fun, out of the box places, we are fans of hotels that support the local community and Hotel McCoy does that!
The great:Love, love, love the courtyard. There are a lot of things to do and I think for families with kids that are ages 4-11 this place would be perfect because you can let your kids play/do various activities.
Love the showcasing of local artwork!
The good: I will admit, I was hesitant about the oatmeal bar but I was pleasantly surprised at the toppings. The only thing I wished that was available was butter for the oatmeal. Some suggestions for breakfast ideas would be: bagels and cream cheese, kolaches, etc. My husband was happy to eat pop tarts and oatmeal but I knew he would have enjoyed more options. I appreciate the offer of yogurt.
Our room was comfortable, the bed I was nervous about because it felt quite firm but overall it slept comfortably.
The areas of improvement:
If there is nothing else that hotel staff take from this review is that the rooms need curtains, desperately. I was up until 10 pm waiting for the sun to set and realized that it was not the sun but it was how bright the light was coming from around the window shade. Black out curtains would also help with noise from High Way 6.
