Basilique Notre-Dame de Cléry-Saint-André. Lieu de dévotion, suite à la découverte sur le site d'une statue de la Vierge enfouie dans le sol. Construction d'une église, vers 1280. L'église est une étape sur le chemin de Compostelle. L'église est agrandie et transformée en collégiale par Philippe le Bel (1309) En 1428, pendant la guerre de cent ans, l'église est détruite par les troupes anglaises de Salisbury (il ne reste que la tour carrée). 15 août 1443, le voeu de Dieppe. Devant la ville, le dauphin Louis (futur Louis XI), fils du roi Charles VII, implore à genou la Vierge de Cléry. Il fait le voeu de reconstruire la collégiale si la Vierge l'aide à remportera victoire contre les anglais à Dieppe. Dunois, qui commandait les troupes royales remporte la victoire. Le 30 août 1483, Louis XI meurt, avant la fin de la construction de l'église. Il sera enterré dans l'église de Cléry-Saint-André, au contraire des autres rois de France qui sont enterrés à Saint-Denis. La collégiale Saint-Liphard. Bâtie à l'endroit d'un monastère sur la tombe de Saint-Liphard (✝565), l'église sera consacrée le dimanche 16 octobre 1104 en présence des l'archevêques de Tours et de Paris et de l'évêque d'Orléans, réunis lors du concile de Beaugency (concile annulant le mariage de Philippe 1er avec Berthe de Hollande, le roi vivant déjà en ménage avec Bertrade de Montfort). En réalité, il s'agissait d'une nouvelle consécration. En 1103, Léon (Lionel, Léonel) de Meung, un vassal rebel de l’évêque d’Orléans, se retrancha dans la tour de l’église avec une soixantaine d’hommes. Louis, fils de du roi Philippe 1er, qui dès 1102, avait défait plusieurs seigneurs brigands du domaine royal, élimine en 1103 le seigneur de Meung, Léon, vassal indocile de l'évêque d'Orléans. Louis, futur Louis VI le gros, avait été associé au pouvoir par son père depuis 1100. Pour effacer la souillure de la présence d'hommes armés dans l'église, Jean, évêque d’Orléans fit une nouvelle consécration de l’église Saint-Liphard en 1104.
