We loved the meditation and sound healing sessions that were available and the rooms with the outdoor hot tub were great for relaxing after hiking Qingchengshan. Would love to stay again and recommend it to anyone considering visiting the area.
Rooms are large, well furnished and very clean. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, although I think might not have english speaking staff member that you might find in a large chain hotel.
Food is all made by the onsite chef, and while a bit limited in choice, is very tasty and not too expensive.
The only potential downside is that as a retreat type property, it isn't located in the nearby city. If you drove in your own car or rented car, then no issue. But the only easily walkable local attraction is the adjacent Giant Panda preserve, which was very nice, if not nearly as massive as the main panda attraction in Chengdu.
If you do not have your own transport, you would need to use ride hailing, which works well enough, however note that unlike in the cities, if you want to hail one of the big 6 passenger vans, it might be difficult. But hailing regular sedan type Didi cars is easy enough to get you into town for any site-seeing (such as the nearby Dujiangyan or Mt. Qingchen) or dining needs.
