We’ve got the lowdown on how to make your journey as stress-free as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you’ll be hightailing it through the airport and seeing the best of French Island before you know it.What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a great experience if you take the right things. Firstly, you’ll need toiletry items, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh set of clothes and a good book. Next, find a spot in your hand luggage for your phone, tablet and chargers, your important medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to take your passport, travel papers and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) won’t be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be your highest priority when deciding what to wear on board. Consider your footwear with care too, as swollen feet are quite common. Slightly roomy, flat shoes are always a sensible way to go.
- A serious condition by the name of DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-haul flights. It’s the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation. Doing leg and foot exercises in your seat helps to prevent this from happening. Wearing a quality pair of compression socks also helps reduce the risk.
