Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're prepared. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will get your Trier holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The trick to having an awesome travel experience is to pack ahead. Start with the essentials: passport, official ID, credit cards and vital medications. Next, take on board items that'll help keep you busy, like some electronic devices or a juicy novel. It's also smart to pack your chargers, a neck pillow and a pair of headphones. Finally, don't forget to squeeze in toiletry items like a toothbrush, facial wipes and a clean T-shirt.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to go for comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by dressing in layers, and opt for flat, easy-to-remove shoes like sneakers.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To lessen your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks and keep your feet and legs moving.
