Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you're prepared. Follow these top travel tips that will get your Haskell holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a pleasure if you've got all the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a spare change of clothes and something to read. Next, make room in your carry-on bag for your electronic devices, chargers, any daily medications and perhaps a neck pillow as well. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to bring your passport, travel docs and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Pack all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and strong acids, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main priority when choosing what to wear during your flight. Loose, breathable clothing is a wise choice, as are flat, slightly roomy shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clotting condition caused by prolonged inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to walk around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to promote better circulation.
