Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasurable experience if you're prepared. We've put together a list of handy tips and tricks that will get your Cadrete escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a comfortable experience if you bring the right gear. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as a toothbrush and lip balm, a clean pair of socks and a magazine or two. Secondly, leave space in your carry-on bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, your medications and perhaps a comfy neck pillow too. Lastly, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and gasoline, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to feel as comfortable as you can. Choose easy-to-remove footwear, dress in loose, natural-fibre clothing and remember to take a jacket in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Most travellers have heard about deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of inactivity. To lessen your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your lower limbs often.
