Châtelais Trip

Perfect for a Saturday night stop before early Navette bus to the airport as no early trains from Pornic on Sundays. Easy walk into Old town from the hotel through the Chateau. Room small (like in the room we were in, you have to open your suitcase in the room 'hallway' opposite the bathroom). However, rooms are super clean, decent size shower with rainfall and non rainfall head. Shower pressure really good even from the 6th floor! View from room 603 straight out onto Cathedral. Airconditioning in the room, able to turn on/off but the temp is set centrally. Electric blackout blinds in the rooms.

The lady at check-in last night was not very enthusiastic about her job, and not especially courteous. However the lady at checkout this morning was very nice and courteous. The room was very decent, except for the lack of outlets and especially for not having one by the nightstand. Also the shower head is so high that I could hardly reach to take it off, or choose to leave it in place and hardly get water, because the water falls from too high.

La navette pour l’aéroport est un service payant qu’on peut prendre à partir de l’aéroport et qui arrive à la gare tout près de l’hôtel. Ce n’est pas un service offert par l’hôtel et ça ne vous mène pas directement à l’hôtel. L’hôtel est très bien situé, à un design moderne, le personnel est S-U-P-E-R! Nous avions pris la peine d’écrire à l’Hotel pour leur mentionner quelques détails et ils etaient prêt à notre arrivé! Il y a un ascenseur de bonne dimension. On peut y entrer 2 avec des valises!

Overall, staff good, room fine, bed comfy. BUT both their website and Expedia write up says shuttle service- it’s only Monday to Friday! We were travelling on Saturday so had to take a$20 taxi ride The info also says restaurant on site - it’s at the sister hotel there’s no food service except breakfast. Although it’s only a few minutes walk to the sister hotel it’s another example of poor info a a pain on a hot day
