Top Channel Islands Hotel Reviews

The Pandora Hotel

The Pandora Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"The food in the hotel restraunt was first class and the restaurant staff were excellent, helpful, courteous and always with a smile. The only downside, and it's not a criticism of the hotel, Guernsey is VERY hilly and the hotel is at the top of a VERY steep hill, and taxis in St Peter's Port are non-existant. The island bus service is very good but don't reley on the timetables pinned to every bus stop, get a timetable from the bus office opposite the bus stands."

St Brelades Bay Hotel

St Brelades Bay Hotel

8/10 Good
"This is a renowned upmarket hotel in a very beautiful setting. However when we checked in we were struck by the rather cool formality of the 'welcome' ... we felt as though we were simply processed in a pretty impersonal way with no warmth whatsoever. When we reached our room, we were amazed to discover it wasn't equipped with even a tiny fridge ... presumably to encourage guests to spend £ in the hotel bar. We did enjoy our stay, nonetheless. Our room was quiet and the bed was comfortable, so we got a good night's sleep. The shower was excellent. The buffet breakfast is outstanding. And to cap it all, the beach right outside the hotel is nigh-on perfect: a wide, deep arc of pale, powdery sand that was extraordinarily clean, with the RNLI a constant presence to protect swimmers and surfers. We were sad to leave."

The Duke Hotel

The Duke Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"We stayed for a week in September and the hotel is really lovely. Rooms and bathroom were clean and modern. The windows in the rooms only opened a few inches so would have been nice to open them a bit further. Rooms were quiet at night. Nice relaxed bar and large terrace with seating and sea view. Breakfast served in the restaurant with cooked food to order and self service continental. We had dinner in the restaurant one night and the food and service was first class. There was a large tour party having dinner that night but it didn't affect the service. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk downhill to the sea front. It's a bit of a slog back up a very steep hill in the evening. Wouldn't affect guests that had a car. I would stay at the hotel again if I had the use of a car."

Cristina Hotel

Cristina Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"We were in the cheapest room type so we weren't expecting a view but in fact we could see sideways across the bay and inland which was very green. The room was comfortable and nicely furnished with plenty of storage. It had two chairs and a little table which means you don't always have to sit on the bed. Teas, milks and biscuits were topped up daily which is by no means the case in all hotels. The breakfast was acceptable, some good additional choices can be ordered instead of the buffet. A fan was provided, there is no Aircon. I wouldn't have liked the room in the hot weather as it was at the top of the hotel so quite warm even in September. Good deep bath. No fridge. Good location with parking for touring, though the exit/ entrance is a bit tricky. Steps down if walking to the bus stop or the sea. Restaurant meals are good, reservations needed. The restaurant and bar seem to merge a bit, which is a little confusing, but you can easily just order a drink. The soundproofing wasn't good so ear plugs might be useful but overall it is a good hotel."
