"Participated in the soft opening of the hotel (accidentally). Family owned. Very friendly and helpful staff. Everything is new apart from the antiques used to furnish the rooms (apparently collected over many years before they bought the hotel). Quaint and cozy remake of a prior hotel. Has a. bar (was a work in progress), porch on first (ground) floor and patio on the second floor (with fire pits and comfortable chairs). They will have a small store and small restaurant (which will be a good thing as there are very limited dining options on Mon-Wed in town). Look forward to going back some day and seeing the finished product. Clearly a labor of love and more like a B&B than a chain hotel."

"We had never been to New Mexico before and love taking the scenic side roads instead of the highways, which led us to this gem. We arrived during a torrential rainstorm, but Tanya went above and beyond to help us get settled in. She even made sure we had a ground-floor room for our dog, which was so appreciated. Though the rain kept us in for the evening, the next morning brought sunshine and the chance to explore this charming town. The people here are incredibly friendly, and the whole experience felt warm and welcoming from start to finish. If you're passing through—especially if you're taking the backroads—definitely stay here!"

"Rustic and charming log cabin. Almost no staff visible. Text for help. No breakfast, no food items for sale on property. Limited activities. At the base of the majestic Brazos Cliffs. Several miles from the highway and further yet to any retail. Heavily wooded. Wildlife in abundance. Enjoyed our stay, loved the wood-burning stove! Probably would not stay again nonetheless."
