"The actual unit is very nice and very clean! Lots of small appliances and kitchen utensils perfect for use. Everything was clean and organized. Some of the appliances didn't work however. The microwave wasn't working properly. Otherwise everything else i used worked as expected. Check in was a nightmare! The host was very rude and unhelpful. I had to rely on expedia's chat system with Hala Tysons to get my check in information. The website with the checkin information is so poorly developed...

"Decent hotel with high quality amenities, just across the bridge from Old Town Alexandria proper, making it a cheaper option for Old Town, without the extra markups for parking on the hotel property if you have a car - this hotel charged $11 a day, while Old Town hotels charged $33 a day and above. But with it being about a 15 minute drive to DCA (Ronald Reagan Airport) and offering a complimentary, on-demand shuttle between Old Town Alexandria and Huntington Metro station, it makes a compelling case for staying without a car, if preferred. The staff are polite, friendly and attentive and I enjoyed staying in one of their studio suites although, despite the room having a good sized refrigerator and microwave, doesn't come with plates or cutlery which, for the standard and function of room, was a bit weird. The room was very clean and very beautiful, ideal for lazy lie-ins, which I enjoyed. The medium sized, double-split fitness center was surprisingly well equipped, with treadmills, a full range free weight section, a couple of exercise balls (albeit in need of inflating), a BOSU ball and even some kettlebells. I was impressed. A relatively small pool can be spotted outside the fitness center windows. I didn't try the breakfast, as I was prioritizing my lie-ins, although the person who checked me in was very complimentary of it. The parking area is right outside the hotel, but the layout doesn't make it easy to get heavy luggage to the hotel entrance. Nice stay though."

"When I first arrive I had checked in early. They was very helpful and let me do it free of charge. Took a shower and took a nap. Woke up used the bathroom and the toilet didn’t flush. I let front desk know and they moved me to the room across the hall. Wonderful!!! I was there for 5 days. 4th day I took a shower and walked back in the bed area. Seen a black bug on my pillow. I instantly got pissed. Bed bug was on the pillow. Should’ve took a picture but I washed it off the pillow into the sink. I called my friend and she let me come to her room at another hotel that night. I went back to my room and packed but I’m not bringing them clothes into my house. Have to take them to a laundry m"

"The stay over all was perfect for what we were looking for. The room was cozy and matched what you would expect for an Inn. The room stayed plenty cool enough with the AC unit. The bathroom and shower were clean. The shower worked well and the water was plenty hot and never ran out. The staff was helpful with all our needs and we utilized having them hold our bags through the valet after we checked out because we wanted to explore DC and Georgetown. There were a couple of staff members who they seemed slightly disinterested in helping us out with some questions, but they weren’t necessarily rude. The only bummer on our stay was that the bar/restaurant was closed for a private party and they wouldn’t serve us. Over all a great stay and will be back!"
