Family run - the owners are young and very sweet. They communicate in English too so for us it was much easier.The place was very welcoming (thank you for the sweets on the pillows) It felt like home! Super clean and abundant breakfast. On Thursdays there is a local market just round the corner too. Few meters away is a pizzeria - buonissima 😊The area is very safe with Children playing outdoors in the evenings. Emanuele was a very friendly and helpful host - he helped me with parking (tip, don’t hire a car in Palermo!) and even presented us with birthday cake for my wife’s birthday- nice touch!

We spent a couple of nights here on arrival from the UK, and a final night before we returned home. Luca helped us find a good place to stay on leaving Palermo, and gave us good information about what to see and where to eat in Palermo. His command of English was excellent, which was also true for the rest of the staff.

We loved our time here. The location was perfect. Near enough to the main area but not right in the middle so safe and calm at night. Our family of 4 had a great time

The hotel is close to the airport bus stop. It is situated opposite Prada and Politeama Hotel. It costs 6.30 Euros per person to the airport. Tickets are purchased on the bus. If purchasing bus tickets for around Palermo you can buy these from a kiosk. It is better to buy tickets for multiple days as this is the cheaper option. Lovely hotel run by a very friendly team who communicate very well. Excellent check in instructions made it very easy. Very close to the railway station and about a 15 minute walk from the city centre. Nice shower, decent aircon and good WiFi. Comfy bed and nice pillows. Hotel advertises itself as a good value hotel and it is. All the staff are all friendly and helpful. The hotel is within a 5 minute walk of the centre and there are lots of reasonable eateries around; go for the ones the locals eat in. The public areas have recently been upgraded but the rooms don't seem to have been done at the same time other than to provided enormous beds and large TVs . As a 3-star hotel, the Mediterraneo is excellent value for money and perfectly situated close to the Teatro Massimo and via Macqueda. The breakfast is excellent. However, it is a pity there is no kettle in the room for making tea or coffee. Also, there was no shower cap or shower gel. I have been coming to the Mediterraneo for 51 years (since 1975!). This is a simple and nice b&b near the station in Palermo. The staff are very friendly and the room is decent and breakfast simple but tasty. The area around is ok but Palermo is a chaotic and dirty city seriously lacking in decent local governance. Therefore as with most of Palermo expect rubbish in the streets, unkept buildings and clearly high unemployment mixed with wonderful architecture that deserves so much better care.

We were on a walking holiday . We had to travel up to 40 miles to get started on most walks. The views in the immediate area were breathtaking. We chose to stay here for the food which was delicious and plentiful our host Aldo was very attentive.
