I requested a non smoking room and the room we received smelled strongly of smoke. The carpet was sticky. The showers hot water was only lukewarm. The property deserves updates. There was a homeless person outside the property trying to get money from people as they entered. Often times the hallway smelled strongly of marijuana.

Blow dryer in room did not work. Breakfast was normal except nobody was cleaning anything. There was syrup everywhere on all the tables and counters. There were at least 4 employees there at breakfast time but they were just talking and laughing.

The staff is friendly and accommodating. The property is well kept and rooms are a bit outdated but they are showing upgrades like USB ports and plug ins on the lamps and wall sconces. There are reading lamps on both sides of the bed. Larger dorm fridge with small icebox and microwave is also in my queen room.
Door security needs a lot of help. All of them have readers but the doors don’t all use them or the door needs to be closed all the way by guest to work. The door facing 33rd doesn’t close all the way but the reader works. Back door reader is not working and other side door I can not comment on.
I did enjoy my stay though.

Mostly a run down part of town. All properties on this side of town are the cheaper option. Just the nature of the beast. Everting was very kind and polite. Outside (the grounds are neglected.) needs attention but no different than the other property’s in the area. Just the residence inn next door is out of place because it is neeer and well cared for.

Its not the safest neighborhood. But the place itself is decent. It was clean. Breakfast was okay. I have had better but also worse. Overall not a terrible place to stay.

Customer service was great. Room was pretty clean, like linens and bathrooms, but i wouldn’t touch the floor without wearing shoes. The side chair had obvious semen stains and the heater/air didn’t work.

Check in was a bit longer than usual, did not feel safe outside the building and chair and carpet was filthy.

Furniture is beaten up a bit but it clean, the internet was fast, staff was excellent and I didn’t get robbed. That’s about all you can hope for in Cedar Rapids.

The hotel staff was excellent, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable the pillows where great and the bedspread I would of loved to take home , breakfast was different but good overall I would stay there again I felt safe and it was clean and staff was excellent.

Hotel was dirty. Furniture (recliner) in room was old and broken, carpet was soiled. Towels were stained and room smelled moldy and was dark. First bad experience I have had using hotels.com.
