10/10 Excellent
"This restored historic building and it's atrium/bar is a gorgeous must-see! Truly acknowledges the local history in all of the decor which celebrate its stained glass. Using the original (combined together now) terraced buildings does mean more connecting doors and 1-3 steps up or down in two places when walking down the long hotel corridors. It does have an elevator and my 90 year old father managed fine with our help. On the plus side, on the ground floor, that also meant lots of quiet little "private rooms" for meals if you prefer some quiet or even a family-sized dining room. There is single-paned glass too, due to rules about not being able to alter the room dividers and windows historic buildings, but there was only occasional noise from patrons of the large pub across the street, and not too late. (Perhaps a bit later on weekends). But because taxi drivers use pub names as their primary navigational markers, the Bleeding Horse pub built in the 1600s is known by them all. The staff were exceedingly helpful and friendly and there is a 24-hour reception desk. The food is good and not overpriced. And the neighborhood is safe with plenty of buses going into the city centre , the green LUAS (light rail transit) nearby or you could walk to the main attractions on the south side of the city within 12-20 minutes. I would definitely stay here again!"
