The Sandman in Castlegar is quite tired. The staff were efficient and friendly and the rooms were clean and updated but had a very loud air conditioner. The hanging baskets outside the lobby were a nice touch. The whole building is very beige and the atrium area is dark and dingy the plants need watering and there are boxes of bathtubs or something in the glassed in areas. The building needs some updating.

The area / floor the room was on was under construction. Cardboard thoughout the hall floor, dirty. no communication about the continental breakfast. The door card lock to break foor did not work. Did not find out until i checked out The room furniture woas dirty and warn out.the carpet was dirty. Not impressed

This hotel needs upgrading desperately. They were having trouble with their key cards, which left us going to the front desk for new cards every time we left the room, more than a little annoying .

This is a great property. The building is undergoing renovations with many of the expected issues. However, the rooms are lovely, well-appointed and have the best bathroom mirrors ever! The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking is plentiful and free, and I noticed there is even space for several large trucks adjacent to the hotel. Food spots are reasonably plentiful, and Canadian Tire is just south. Nice place!
