"Puddle of water from leaking pipes between floors in our bathroom on arrival. Moved us to another room, but it was a much farther walk and pain to move everything, and my husband had a broken foot, so being placed in the farthest room from exit possible was a little inconvenient, and the tv in the new room kept having picture go out a couple minutes into watching, so that was useless, but thankfully we didn’t really need it. The sheets, bed, & pillow were comfy, and it had black out curtains and wasn’t loud, even when fully packed out. Sufficient enough bathroom but vents would be nice. Decent free breakfast. Just feel like for the price it was, we’ve gotten similar quality for a lot less $, but that’s dynamic pricing I guess."

"Parking was simple. Check-in was easy. Staff were courteous, friendly and helpful. A very nice breakfast bar, and a spacious outdoor patio for seating. Also a spacious suite with very good fridge, microwave and 2-burner cooktop. The only 👎 was that many of the dishes in the cupboard were not adequately clean. Eventually figured out that the dishwasher was not doing a complete job. Handwashing worked fine. Close to Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Target - so getting supplies was straightforward."

"It was a decent place. The staff like to rush a little bit, which was a little annoying but other than that, it was fine."

"Our cabin #65 has many carpenter bees buzzing and digging holes in the exterior wall near the deck, table and grill. It was impossible to use the desk and difficult to keep the bees out of the cabin. The inside swimming pool was not functional causing our daughter big disappointment. We were not notified of the swimming pool being out of service until just before our arrival to the resort. I asked Expedia and the resort for some type of credit or other compensation, but we were denied. This resort visit was not very good."

"The hotel and grounds are beautiful! We were only there for 1 night so not able to take advantage of all the amenities. The Front Desk clerk was new and did not provide all information about the property. The instructions on how to get to our room were incorrect. We decided to have a drink in the lounge and upon entering both staff members were fully engaged in their conversation. We asked if we could select our own area to sit and were told yes, but not in a friendly welcoming manner, more annoyed that we had interrupted their conversation. The level of Customer Service did not meet the level of the property or prices they charge. We were glad to have dinner at Marigold which was an incredible experience."

"Beautifully renovated historic home that welcomes you from the moment you drive in. The property is vast and the immediate grounds are very well maintained with many activities to interest all-pool, hiking trails, and croquet. The public spaces androoms are well put together while maintaining their historic integrity. Grab a crab cocktail at the in-house bar and have dinner in any of the well appointed dining spaces. A great place to stay before/after a visit to Monticello."
