"Staying in a cave room but having an entryway in the room with windows out on the gorgeous Matera scenery is perfect. We also had a porch with chairs to sit outside. The breakfast was amazing! Fresh and delicious food served to us by the most welcoming people you could ask for, Angela and Agnese. We also had a wonderful piano player, Gianni, at breakfast every day - now that's a first for us!. If we went back to Matera, which we hope to do some day, we would stay here again. The only negative is WiFi is not reliable in our room. Unfortunately across all of southern Italy our 5g T-mobile plan didn't work either so we used physical maps. We stayed a week and so were able to see a lot of this magnificent area. Most people only stay two or three nights and I feel that is not enough. "

"Simply our favorite place. We are an extended family made up of two grandparents, three families, and kids ranging from 10 to 17 years old, and for the past ten years, we’ve chosen Alborea Eco Lodge as our summer holiday destination. Every time it confirms our love for it—and every time, it’s hard to leave. Once again this year, the nautical activities were a big hit, especially with the kids, who enthusiastically took part in windsurfing, sailing, and canoeing. The food this year was perhaps the best we’ve had in the past ten years. A sincere thank-you and congratulations to the entire kitchen staff. A lovely new addition this year was Gianmarco, the photographer, who, with great professionalism and discretion, managed to capture the most beautiful moments of our vacation. We highly recommend taking the time for a personalized photo session with him—a truly special memory to take home.
