The first night I stayed in a room that was awesome but for some reason the mattress felt a little hard. Within an hour of expressing my concern, a manager personally reached out. And the manager did not just apologize but ensured that robust action was taken to resolve my concerns. By the time I finished breakfast, they had transitioned me into a new room with a mattress that was the perfect. When staying in a hotel there is nothing better than knowing that you have a hotel staff behind you that treats you with sincerity and respect. A staff that if something is not right, they solve the problem with a level of grace, kindness, and excellence in hospitality. Such excellence was displayed to me when the staff solved this mattress issue that I had when I stayed there. This exceptional customer service distinguishes Hilton Capitol Hil I believe from our hotels in DC. "The hotel itself very clean and stuff very friendly. Great location, however we did not get room cleaning. When I called around 7pm with the concern they said they will send the service right away. We left and when came back to find out only the towels were left next to the sink. We did not get any regular service like replenishing coffee, emptying garbage or making the bed. In addition we were looking forward to room service however it was unavailable for staffing reasons. We cannot help but feel we were short changed in our experience at Arlo hotel. "

"Pool wasn’t clean. Everyone was walking with street shoes in the pool area. The water was so terrible that the kids started coughing and we all get burning eyes. 5 minutes pool were enough. We reported that, they wanted to take care, but on the next day also burning eyes in minutes. The other terrible part was the breakfast. Too unhealthy. You could also go for some fast food at a grocery. Really bad. On our first day - a Friday - they closed breakfast at 9am. Very early if you are there for holidays. Pool and included breakfast was driving my decision to book there. Never again."

"Our room was clean and the sleeping space large. The bathroom set up was a bit wonky with a large basin but a short faucet. The handle was tucked behind the basin and didn't allow for full usage of the cold water. We were at the breakfast room next door to the main hotel during the week. The room was too full/crowded and most of the breakfast food was gone. There was one hard working breakfast prep guy who tried his best to keep up with providing eggs but most of the other food stayed emptied. On the weekend, the food situation was a bit better but the flow through the the room was still crowded. Suggestion- the long countertop that is used for eating should be removed and all food displays should be moved from the window wall in each cubby space over to the long wall to allow for better flow and sidelines of the food choices and better sideline for parents and children"
