"Check in was a nightmare. We did not get checked into our room until 6 even though we did pre check in at 2. I understand actual check in starts at 4. Is it too much to ask to have the rooms ready at 4? There were several people also delayed until 6 or later to check in. We waited in the lobby and were questioned and bothered by the time share/concierge. No thank you should be a sufficient answer. Once we got to our room there was broken glass on the balcony, newly patched holes in the walls, floors that were so dirty my socks turned black and a toilet that didn't work correctly and no TV remote. I can see why they were so late checking us in. Maybe manditory cleaning once in a week long stay would be a good idea so there isn't a disater to deal with later. I will say the hotel did fix the remote and toliet issue quickly. A main issue with all of this is we were told we would be refunded for two nights. Upon check out we were told by someone else that wasn't possible since we booked thru expedia. So they refunded our resort fees. I was under the impression the cost we pay to expedia covers that but it doesn't Honesty would have went a long way in making this an easier issue to deal with. We have stayed at this hotel 4 times. I will say the extra money for an upgraded room really isn't worth it. All of their rooms are very nice don't upgrade unless you need the extra space."
"My family and I travel to Virginia Beach every year this is the first time we stayed at the Hyatt. We got there early our room wasn’t ready, which is understandable. When we got to our room, the bathroom room was not locking, and the balcony had a huge gap, I have a five year old so i wasn’t comfortable at all with my kids going on the balcony. We called the front desk, spoke to Mike the manager, they sent someone up to fix the bathroom, they saw the balcony took pictures and gave us 50% off the room stay. The next day, close to midnight, we saw a roach crawling by the bed, we saw a second one on the wall, we caught it and took a picture and call the front desk immediately. It was midnight, some of the kids were sleeping had to wake them up, pack all the bags and move to another room. Honestly at that point I didn’t want to stay at the hotel at all. The guy at the front desk name was Ralph, he was really nice to us, customer service was on point. The next day spoke to the manager Mike, he said he could only give us 50% off again. Honestly I don’t expect our stay to be free but I feel like we should have been compensated more, we found a roach, that’s disgusting for such a high end hotel. I felt like they could have offered more than that. I would never stay here again."

6/10 Okay
"Enjoyed our stay and the pools. A "glitch" in the system happened so they didnt have the exact room we originally booked so gave us 2 rooms Friendly staff."
"Check in and out was a breeze, the young lady that helped us both times was very nice. We did not use the amenities however, the pool did look clean, but was not a very big area and the breakfast in our opinion was not very good. There should be some dairy free options available too, which there were not. The hotel was very convenient to the beach and Boardwalk. The rooms were clean, they just need some TLC which we did see some staff members that were cleaning and making improvements in the building. We would definitely stay here again in the future."
"The room was very clean and spacious. Being so close to the beach front is amazing, with most hotels there you have to pay for parking but here it was free. The staff is very helpful and kind. It rained most of my stay and with it being so humid the air conditioner was put in to work. And it did not disappoint. Overall I would definitely stay here again."
"The stay was just okay. There was no room cleaning during our entire five-day stay. Management claimed they are still following COVID-19 protocols, meaning we had to replace our own towels and empty our own trash. Additionally, there was an unknown man sleeping on the lobby couch on Monday between 5:00 AM and 8:00 AM, and it was unclear if he belonged to the staff. This raised some safety concerns."
"Ideal location on the beachfront. The beach is groomed early in the morning and is very well maintained.
Breakfast is included and provides a good selection of hot and cold food.
The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean with a great view of the beach.
The front desk staff were terrific and the manger was very kind and helpful.
Highly recommended."
