"The bed sheets were not clean. Covered in both human and dog hair. Room was freezing. Looks to be an old converted shed sitting in a concrete pad. It was 5 degrees outside and we had a constant draft through the doors, windows, and cold air emitting straight from the floor. The home is old, which is no issue. "We really enjoyed our stay this year, it’s the second year that we stayed at this motel. Rooms are always clean, comfortable beds and room service is great. They tidy up the rooms everyday. The breakfast is absolutely delicious, always plenty and fresh. All the staff are very friendly and helpful, with check-in and check out. Would definitely recommend this motel. Also parking is great and plenty to chose from, location is also great, restaurants and shopping are very close to motel. "

"The place would've been alot better if the fire alarm system would've worked properly. We spent the whole night with the alarm light blinking in our room and they couldn't get it fixed. Trying to sleep with a bright light blinking and not getting any answers to when it will be fixed and not compensating for the inconvenience or allowing to cancel and allowing to find another hotel due to the time was 7 pm and we had already been checked in for our stay and then having to stay due to already being charged and they say it was beyond their control. I call bullcrap."

"Unfortunately they had a water main break nearby, so there was no running water when we got there. It did get fixed by the morning but no coffee, no juice, no oatmeal or waffles. They did give out bottles of water. The mattress and pillows were not comfortable at all. It smelled musty in the hotel. We think they cleaned the carpets and floors and that was why. The staff was friendly."

"We loved our stay at the Trail Hotel over Memorial Day weekend. We originally planned for two nights but had to extend our stay after our vehicle broke down and we couldn’t find a rental car or service because of the holiday weekend. The staff were incredibly kind, patient, and helpful throughout the entire situation. The hotel is a beautifully renovated former Holiday Inn that was transformed into a bourbon boutique hotel while keeping the original historic structure due to historical zoning. The rooms are spacious, including the standard rooms, with cozy wood finishes and rich colors that really bring the bourbon atmosphere throughout the property. The showers are large and beautifully tiled. There are five bars on-site, including a hidden speakeasy that was a lot of fun. The bartenders are knowledgeable, the drinks are unique, and the wait staff were always friendly and attentive. The property also has a large pool and a 12-person hot tub, both very clean and clearly well maintained. Transportation tip: Uber was unreliable in the area and actually stranded us at Maker’s Mark Distillery. Bardstown Taxi was excellent and offered flat rates around town. Only tiny complaints: there’s no ledge in the shower for easier leg shaving, and the hair dryers are basic, so bring your own if you have thick hair. Bread is not included in your meals, not a deal breaker Overall, this is a great place to fully experience the bourbon trail atmosphere, and we would absolutely stay again."

"The staff was fine the pool was fairly clean the rooms were fairly clean the air conditioners needed to be clean leaving a musty smell breakfast could have been extended to say 10 or 11 instead of 9 overall I do believe that it would be a 5 out of 10 stay they definitely could use a little upgrade other than that everything was okay"
