Camp
Camp is a small butdelightful village in CountyKerry, Ireland. It is located on the Dingle peninsula, resting at thefoot of the Slieve Mish Mountains, and offers easy access to the hills, beachesand attractions of this part of the west coast of Ireland.

The surrounding harbours and beaches offer thechance to enjoy fishing and water sports or simply relax on the sand, whilstthe inland scenery is some of the most windswept rugged and impressive thatIreland has to offer.

Activitiesin Camp

The beauty of the landscape surrounding Campis such that you may well be tempted to spend your time there enjoying thelocal hospitality, sipping a pint of Guinness and simply soaking up thestunning views. The real benefit of a location like this, however, is that the wideopen spaces all around represent nothing more or less than a massive natural playgroundfor visitors.

The simplest means of enjoying the hills, mountainsand plains of the Dingle Peninsula is to put on your walking boots and hit the manypathways which criss-cross the area. Camp issituated at the heart of the world famous Dingle Way, a 31 mile route whichstretches along the peninsula following the path of the old Dingle Road betweenTralee and Dingle. The villages of Camp and then Annascaulconveniently divide the walk into a trio of 10 mile stretches, each of whichcan be tackled in a day.

More experienced walkers, or those wanting more ofa challenge, can take the path from Camp directlyto the top of Catherconree, from where fantastic views in all directions takein Munster, Dingle Bay and the rolling waters of the Atlantic.

Families looking for a walking opportunity whichchildren might enjoy are advised to head four miles to the west of Campto explore Glannteenassig, a forest offering a river trail, a mountain trailand a walk around a lake.

Beaches Nearto Camp

The coast situated close to Campoffers mile after mile of sweeping sandy beaches, ideal for sandcastlebuilding, sun bathing and romantic walks. Beaches nearby include Banna beach andthe Maherees, but the simple truth is that virtually the entire stretch of thecoast is perfect for exploration.

Anglers can enjoy the freshwater loughs which dotthe landscape or try their hand at deep sea fishing, whilst Sandy Bay, sixmiles to the west of Camp, is a wind surfing hotspot.

Golf CoursesClose to Camp

Golfers staying in the village of Campcan pay a visit to the CastlegregoryGolf and Fishing Club, where a 9 hole, par 34 course offers an interestingsporting challenge amidst glorious surroundings. Slightly further away is thechallenging coastal golf of the 18 hole Dingle golf links.

The room was very comfortable and clean. Our only critique is that the towels were a bit skimpy and there was no face-cloth, despite only supplying liquid soap. The lobby provides plenty of space for gathering and the location is excellent. Ample parking for those arriving with a car.
