Relax with fellow beachgoers at this sheltered beach, where taxi boats depart from the pier to the idyllic waters of Ilha Cataguás.

Camorim Beach (Praia do Camorim) is a popular place to visit when touring Angra dos Reis. It’s one of the hundreds of attractive beaches and coves spread along the city’s magnificent coastline. See stunning views at Camorim Beach, join a cruise to a tropical island paradise and dine at the village’s selection of restaurants.

The main beach area is a short strip of sand that fronts the village, also called Camorim. Colorful fishing trawlers, speedboats and taxi boats dock just off the shore. These vessels add to the picturesque scene, especially in the evening and as the sun drifts down behind forested hills. The water is calm and mild, although some pollution is possible due to the amount of boats.

Daytrips to islands in the Angra dos Reis archipelago depart from the pier. A favorite destination is Ilha Cataguás where you can sunbathe on unspoiled white-sand beaches and spot a mesmerizing array of fish while snorkeling in transparent water. Ask the tour operator about snorkeling equipment rentals. Another option is to go on a fishing excursion.

About a 20-minute walk along the waterfront from the main beach is Little Camorim Beach (Praia do Camorim Pequeno). With fewer boats, it presents a pleasant environment to take a refreshing swim.

You’ll find a selection of bakeries, bars, cafés and restaurants on the streets of Camorim village. There are guesthouses and hotels at both of the beaches, if you want to stay overnight here.

Camorim Beach is located 5 miles (8 kilometers) east of Angra dos Reis’ city center. The most convenient way to get here is to take a taxi. Some street parking is available. Continue your coastal adventure further east to lesser-visited beaches such as Biscaia Beach and Caetés Beach. Sororoca Beach sits at the foot of a hill and is accessible by foot via a scenic trail.
