The hotel is situated on a main road (no noise problems though) which gives great links to the main buses in to Funchal, including a courtesy bus from the hotel, and the open top tour buses.
The hotel says 4 star but how it isn't a 5 star I will never know! The hotel is home to beautiful gardens, including an orchid garden, making the scenery even more beautiful. Butterflies are always flying around and it just feels like paradise. The hotel is clean and maintained thoroughly everyday, they...

Had two weeks stay. Loved Madeira ....hotel was perfect. Did my research regarding the reviews before booking, and went for the B&B only. Some guest that had paid for HB were not happy with the dinners not much choice and not too good! Not many guest for dinner around 23 people! So might be the reason. Kettle and cups provided in your room Take your own tea and coffee as they only give you, enough for the 1st day.

We had a fantastic time here. The room was big and comfortable and the resort was beautifully maintained, with lovely gardens. A great place to relax and unwind.
Breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety, catering for a wide range of dietary requirements. The various restaurants offered decent food and a good option if not wanting to venture out in the evening.
The staff were all fantastic throughout.
I would definitely recommend this place and would happily stay there again.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in June 2016 and was one of our best hotel holidays. Our room was comfortable, overlooking the pool and sea views, clean, shady balcony and very effective curtains, such that we overslept on many days! Most of the other guests appeared to be mainly a mix of older British, French and Germans which produced a civilised atmosphere and was quiet at night. Of course this might be different at other times of year. We especially enjoyed the food and range of high quality...

We had a very pleasant stay in the Melia last week. The staff were friendly and very helpful Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent and there was always a chef on hand to make something if it was not already on offer.
The hotel is nicely situated with an indoor and an outdoor pool. These are very well looked after and towels, sunbeds and umbrellas are available. There are plenty of restaurants of a good quality within walking distance of the hotel. Reid's Hotel is also...

We have stayed in Funchal many times and Pestana Promenade is one of the best hotels for accommodation and location. There are many excursions from this area as well as local buses which stop very close to the hotel and take you anywhere on the island including an airport service which is great if you are travelling light. The cable car is an enjoyable trip to the top of the island with the chance to visit the renowned botanical gardens.

The staff are courteous and friendly and helpful. If they were unable to help directly they could always advise where you might get the help you needed.
We enjoyed our stay but did find a big disadvantage that as it was 3-4 miles inland from the express way on very difficult roads you didn't want to go into the town after dark. This meant that you ate in the hotel every night. The restaurant menu was very good although it was the same every night so you eventually ran out of choice. After...

This was our first time in Funchal, but our choice of hotel was excellent. The suite was of a good size and well supported with equipment for our needs. The balcony was great, and we had a lovely view of the sea. It was a little noisier than we were expecting, but part of that was due to a nearby hotel being renovated. I expect that rooms facing the interior of the hotel would be quieter. The ensuite was very practical and the rooms were cleaned each day to a very high standard. Towels were also...

This is our (myself and my Mum) second time at the hotel and it still manages to take our breath away. We forgot how lovely the area and hotel was. The greatest aspect of arriving is walking into the hotel room and finding the curtains closed. When you open them, all you can see is blue sky, sunshine and the Atlantic Ocean...pure bliss.
This year we took advantage of the hotel's cocktail evenings, which were made even better sitting on the veranda in the sun. We were also regulars sunbathing...

Facilities were great with little touches like sweets on the pillow. Room had clear damage/marks on the walls not repaired and the service was mostly average with one breakfast at the buffet were we didn’t get seen to at all and had find servers ourselves. Hotel facilities and options were great.

Don't go uptown to the tourist area where all the hotels are - concrete jungle!
Old town is best for eateries and bars - especially the rum bar - hard to find but a wee gem. It is
on the second section of the old street and has a balcony which overlooks the street - the guy there is fantastic looks like you are in his front room but it's an amazing place to sample rum - he has a massive choice.
Do the Nun's valley - 1/2 day excursion as lets you see the remote side- mountains and...

We stayed at this hotel for the duration of our week in Madeira & cannot really find a fault in anything. We stayed on a 'bed & breakfast' basis which suited us well as we didn't know what we'd be doing each day as there is such a vast amount to do in Madeira.
The breakfast buffet was excellent - plenty of different food to select from & relentlessly being topped up by the hard working staff. We stayed in a beautiful sea view room which was spacious & exceptionally clean with brilliant...

What does Camara de Lobos have to offer in addition to hotels with indoor pools?
What more could you wish for than the local tours in Camara de Lobos, plus accommodation with an indoor pool so you can recharge your batteries at any time?
What is there to do in Camara de Lobos?
After a few relaxing laps in the pool, head out and visit some of the noteworthy attractions in and around Camara de Lobos. Consider a trip to Cabo Girao, Pico do Ariero and Henriques & Henriques Winery. A few other contenders are Miradouro do Pico da Torre, Baía de Camara de Lobos and Praia de Camara de Lobos.
Why should I choose a hotel with an indoor pool for my stay in Camara de Lobos?
Lounging by the indoor pool is a lovely way to spend the afternoons should it decide to rain during your trip to Camara de Lobos. An indoor pool is perfect for keeping active when getting used to time zone differences if you're coming from far away.
