Chateau Nova Yellowknife

"Stayed for 4 nights this August in a two bedroom apartment suite in the newer building across the parking lot from the main hotel. Since the weather was warm and we like to walk, it wasn't an issue to walk back and forth, but I can see that it would be an inconvenience during the cold of winter. There is a hotel shuttle that you can take from building to building though. The buses for all the tour groups picks you up at the main building, so we had to walk there a lot. The trade-off for this is that you get a wonderful suite in the other building. Our suite was so spacious and the amenities made the stay more enjoyable. We had a full kitchen with dishes, cutlery, pots, and pans, and a washer and dryer. Having two bathrooms was a bonus, and the main bedroom and ensuite was huge. Our unit was clean except the laundry room was overlooked. There was an unmentionable item left in the washer, and the lint compartment had lint, dryer sheet, and two hair pins left in it. Biggest negative for me was that there was no way to keep all the light out from the bedroom in the morning. The air conditioner unit is screwed right into the window screen and can't be removed. The hose sticks out and pushes the blinds out, creating gaps at the sides of the window where the light comes in. I used spare pillows on both sides to block it a bit, but it was still bright. I was lucky that I brought an eye mask with me to block the light. Overall all though, great stay!"
