"I gave a lower score for amenities based on the shower and drinks offerings. The room was lovely, spacious, clean and all extras you need. However, the shower was not good as the triple of warm water was barely enough to shower in. The pub itself and bar were lovely, good pub food, friendly staff but as a Caeliac I can only drink cider on tap and they only offer Aspel cider which must be the most disliked of all. Please offer a choice of draft apple ciders."

"Saw very few staff around. Couple of times reception was deserted for prolonged periods and no one was on the bar either. Maybe just low staffing levels that weekend. Staff we did encounter were friendly. Hotel is clean but a little old fashioned with its decor and felt slightly shabby in the corridors. Room had comfortable beds and a great refurbished bathroom. Parking was plentiful & it’s in a very convenient location. Would stay again if needed to be in the area"

View from room window obstructed by same scaffolding. AC very good during Aug 2026 heatwave"
