3 night stay

We stayed at Indra Valley so we could do a jungle trek. They were able to coordinate everything, including our airport transfers and the 2-day trek, and were super accommodating for the stay!

We had a wonderful stay at Indra Valley Inn and highly recommend it to anyone going to Bukit Lawang. Our room was very nice and had a large balcony overlooking the river which was great and they had a restaurant and accommodated my vegetarian diet. Obiwan was easy to communicate with and organized our taxis to and from Medan as well as our overnight jungle trek. Imran took us on a scooter tour the first afternoon, which was a lovely way to see the town. Imran was also our guide for our overnight jungle trek, he was awesome; very knowledgeable and friendly. We were fortunate to see many animals on our jungle trek including 4 orangutans and lots of Thomas Leaf monkeys. Amazing stay and trek!

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit in Bukit Lawang. Die Jungeltour wird direkt vor Ort gebucht und die Guides sind klasse. Insbesondere unsere Kidz hatten super Spaß und das Personal war immer freundlich und super hilfsbereit. Auch die Abholung von unserem vorherigem Hotel sowie das Fahren zum Flughafen wurde alles problemlos organisiert. Vielen Dank. Wir können die Unterkunft absolut weiterempfehlen.

Wow! Personnel chaleureux. Ceux qui tiennent cette hotel sont des jeunes bohèmes trop gentils qui adores se socialisés avec les clients. Le soir, on peut les voir jouer aux cartes entre amis et jouer de la guitard, ce qui était cool à entendre. Durant notre excursion dans la jungle, ils ont gardés notre valise dans un endroit sécuritaire. Je vous conseil de prendre la suite de luxe puisque les bungalows normal ne fournissent pas l'eau chaude. Bref, j'ai adoré mon voyage et mon trip à cette hotel. :D

Perfect!

Such a perfect place! Obiwan and his team will welcome you as part of their family. The location is amazing, the rooms are cosy and typical. To eat at the restaurant is a real pleasure, the quality of the food and the service are on top! Bukit Lawang is THE place for trekking in the jungle to see orang utangs and many more wild life, Indra Valley will organize it for you and ask for Imran to be your guide according to have an unforgettable experience, he is the best and will ethically make you spend an amazing moment. Indra Valley is our new home and I wish it could one day be yours as well! Thanks to all of the team to make of this stay the best experience we spent in Indonesia. We'll be back :) Ludo&Mani

Séjour Parfait

Séjour parfait au sein de cette guesthouse, Notre chambre était très agréable et propre. L'hébergement dispose de nombreux espaces extérieur permettant de profiter de la vue sur la jungle, ainsi qu'un accès à la rivière pour pouvoir se tremper, surtout avec des enfants. La famille d’accueil et agréable également, le restaurant sans être le meilleur de Bukit Lawang est très bon ! Seul point négatif, ils facturent la garde des bagages si vous effectuer un trek dans la jungle. Nous nous sommes sentit si bien, que nous avons prolongé notre séjour.

Séjour absolument charmant.

Séjour absolument charmant. On nous attendait à l’aéroport avec le sourire, le trajet bien que long a été des plus confortables. Accueillis à l’hôtel par Obiwan et son épique, nous nous sommes tout de suite sentis comme à la maison. Guitare, bonne nourriture, rires, … la vie semble tellement facile en arrivant à l’Indra Valley Inn. Notre chambre avec terrasse, très propre et spacieuse, donnait directement sur la rivière, un décor de rêve. Le matin nous avons commencé la journée en regardant passer une bande de macaques. A 9h, après avoir dégusté une délicieuse crêpe, nous avons fait un trekking d’une journée avec 2 guides hyper sympathiques, parlant anglais, nous donnant plein d’informations au sujet de la forêt et des animaux que nous avons rencontrés. Ils nous ont amenés près des Thomas Leaf, des macaques, des orangs-outangs et nous avons même vu une sorte de babouin et un paon. Merci Saypull et Chris Mong pour votre gentillesse envers nous et votre professionnalisme durant tout notre séjour (et sorry si nous n’avons pas écrit vos noms correctement). Merci encore à Obiwan pour son accueil chaleureux en toute simplicité. Nous rêvons déjà de revenir passer quelques jours avec vous tous.

Mellow Jungle Respite

The first and foremost memory we'll carry away from this place is the trek. Our guides, Saproo and Dion (and unfortunately I'm massacring their names) were fantastic, attentive, and informative. They also made a mean fruit salad and lunch in the middle of the jungle. We saw 11 orangutans (including the infamous Minah), more long-tailed macaques that I could count, a fig-tailed macaque, a long green snake climbing a tree, and a Great Argus Pheasant. We couldn't have asked for more. We splurged on the Deluxe Double Room with a balcony for our three nights there, and we didn't want to leave that balcony after our jungle trek. At sunset, the long-tailed macaques took their evening constitutional on the far side of the river. The entire place had a mellow vibe that was reminiscent of the 70s, from men sporting pony-tails to strumming guitars. The entire staff, led by Obiwan (who hangs out in his card-playing corner), were laid-back yet attentive. We easily were able to arrange for transport to and from the Medan airport - really all of our needs were taken care of. I'd stay here again without a second thought.

Very clean room and great service! The staff are always ready to help you. The most modern bathrooms among the guesthouses in Bukit Lawang. The buildings have a lot of natural wood too. The food was also great, but I wish the chicken dishes had boneless chicken instead of bone-in chicken.

Perfect jungle stay

It was just the perfect holiday. The hotel and staff are all super nice, helpful, friendly and really easy going. I book also with them 2D/1N jungle trekking and I can just say that it was a memorable trip. We saw so many orangutans amongs other animals, we had really nice meals and good company. Thank you so much to Inran and Safrool for everything.

La habitación muy cómoda y el hotel con vistas inmejorables. El precio del transfer desde el aeropuerto no es barato y además los últimos 200 metros no son accesibles con coche y a pesar de haber contratado el transfer completo tuvimos que llevar nuestras maletas o pagar adicionalmente un porteador sin ninguna advertencia al respecto por parte del propietario del hotel.

Stayed 2 nights with an overnight in the jungle between. Paid for deluxe room both nights. First night was good. Comfortable, large room with hot water shower. Second night small room, just enough for bed. Shower with no hot water and no sink. Disappointing.

Perfect place to experience Bukit Lawang

We absolutely loved Bukit Lawang, and this was the perfect hotel to experience it. The standard rooms are slightly basic, but ask for room one - the walls open to a beautiful balcony overlooking the river. Staff was extremely helpful and so kind. Food was fantastic - we spent 5 weeks in Indonesia and it was probably the best Nasi Goreng we tried! The town was quiet when we were there in late September, not sure if it was the rain or just off season. Only downside (not even sure I would call it that), was that we booked a overnight trek with Indra Valley, but were switched to another company without our knowledge. We liked our guide and group regardless so all was well! Would highly recommend this hotel, fond memories of our stay!

Nice place but be careful

Nice place, nice staff, nice view, nice food. But. Obiwan claimed there was no shared transportation after 7:45am and offered us a private car for 700k, leaving at 10. However, we later learned there actually was a minivan (for 190k a head) that left at the same time as our planned car. So I kindly asked to cancel the private car. After that, the smiling attitude was gone. This left us with a bit of a bad aftertaste.
