We stayed two nights, post cruise and I had high expectations after reading some of the reviews. As someone that is well travelled I attempt to stay in unique hotels and thought this would be a good opportunity. I will say that the staff does try… but it seemed that at every turn i was disappointed.
Let me take you through my journey. We got to the hotel early on a Sunday. I had no expectation to be able to get into the room. I had booked an Executive Suite for reference. The receptionist indicated that she may be able to get us in around noon and to check back then. So we went out sightseeing.
At 12:30 I returned and the same receptionist phoned housekeeping to see if the room was ready … it wasn’t - which was fine, but was told 20 minutes. At 1p, I check in again and same story 20 minutes. This is a good indicator of how everything went - 20 minutes to someone in the US literally means 20 minutes. In this case it ended up being another hour and a half before we received our key.
The room - again was an Executive Suite. Do know that it has ample closet space and two full bathrooms which was a nice surprise. Water pressure was great however the first night one of the bathrooms ONLY provided hot water…scalding hot. The hotel response - we will have someone look into it and they are not sure why that would be the case. I’m addition, the bathroom floor will get soaking wet from overspray and lack of adequate coverage to keep the water IN the shower. So much more.
