The free breakfast was great with very good coffee! Room was roomy, didn't know we were one floor up the stairs, but the person helped with our luggage so it wasn't an issue for us. They do have ground floor rooms. We loved our stay here!

Lovely boutique hotel in the pretty castle district. Great service, good size room in the courtyard with a fabulous shower. Good choice of food for breakfast which was delicious. Would totally recommend.

Service was impecable. Staff treats you like royalty here and everything is in too too condition. Breakfast is out of this world including made to order meals and delicious lattes. Location was tough as it did take 20-30 minutes to get to the Prsr side and to many other destination. That’s the downside to being located within castle district I suppose

We stayed in Maison Bistro Hotel in November for 4 nights. It has been amazing from start to finish! We booked a grand suite which turned out fabulous. The bed was really comfortable and the two person jacuzzi was the icing on the cake We were greeted with a bottle of local Prosecco and cake. A really nice touch. The breakfast was delicious and the a la carte choice of hot dishes was excellent. My favourite was the Hungarian omelette. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Location wise it worked out really well for us. On a top of a hill right next to Buda castle and Fisherman’s bastion. There is a good choice of cafés and restaurants, even though it is very quiet at nighttime One thing to consider is the steep hill if you fancy waking to the Pest side. It didn’t bother us. However the bus no 16 literally passes by the hotel and goes very frequently Overall this small boutique hotel is an absolute gem and deserves the excellent rating.

Absolutely LOVED this hotel! We stayed 7 nights. Nice & quiet at night. Only drawback to this location is that wherever you go, it's uphill to get back and there are not many restaurant choices in the evenings.

What can I say? The reviews were all spot on. We absolutely loved our stay at the Maison Bistro & Hotel and would not hesitate to recommend it. Our room was a Grand Double and it was a beautiful space to spend 3 days in. Spacious, clean and beautifully appointed with cool furniture and fittings. The bed and pillows were super comfy, the ensuite was great with powerful shower and L’Occitane toiletries. Breakfast was extremely good with plenty of buffet options and a choice of hot dish which was cooked and presented beautifully. Staff were in general lovely, friendly and helpful. The location in the Castle district was perfect for us. The Fisherman's Bastion close by was such a lovely place to stroll when the tourists had left in the evening. We walked everywhere - the Chain Bridge was approximately 20 minutes away - but the number 16 bus into the city went every 10 minutes.

Great hotel, some of the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating. Excellent food and coffee. Room was so nice and quiet. However. I wasn’t a fan of the room decor, I was in the “retro room” room 14. I would stay again but ask for a room with more relaxing decor.

The hotel is in a great location close to attractions, however it is located in a gated area because it is close to the president and prime minister’s residences and so every time you pass through the gate you will be charged 25 Euros unless you leave the car there in hotel vicinity and in this case you will pay 25 euros for every 24 hours. Overall it’s better not to have a car in budapest and only rent the car for days you would want to go outside of the city otherwise you will be struggling to find parking space in the city and there is a lot of traffic The breakfast at the hotel us wonderful. The chef they have is great. We had a wonderful time and we highly suggest this hotel.

I’m picky about hotel cleanliness and services. The services and staffs are by far the best I had. The rooms are small but super clean. The staffs are very considerate and try to put personal touch to their service. I loved staying there.

Beautiful, quiet, and charming little place! Staff was super friendly and helpful -even assisting with printing out a ticket. Room was super lovely with cute butterfly wallpaper. Loved the eco awareness as they asked to reuse the bottles for water. The included breakfast was delightful and more than filling. The location was great and a quick walk to Fisherman’s bastion for beautiful sunset photos. Would definitely recommend!

A destination hotel
I was only here briefly, due to travel delays, etc., but my thought is, this is a destination hotel, I would happily stay here again. The building is historic, with modern updates all over, very clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet/entree was awesome, and included in the price. They don't "nickel and dime" you here. And the location cannot be beat. I wish I were staying longer... next time!

I LOVED this property. 4 star hotel that not only deserves it's rating but might deserve to reach 5 with a few small changes. All in all, it's a beautiful property, top notch rooms, comfortable beds, delicious restaurant, fantastic breakfast included, and they still make their coffee unlike many places that have switched to horrible automated machines. Convenient to get to all the local historical sites.

10 out of 10. We came late in the evening and George checked us in. He took a map and showed us where to go and how to get places. Great check-in. Room service was great! Only thing was.. No kettle in the room. Breakfast was alright if you're a pork eater. Budapest like their ham. Their butter croissants were great. If you're a vegetarian then there isn't much range. Yoghurt with toppings, croissants, vanilla pastry, seeded croissant and fruit. They have a menu where you can get an 1 item, buffet and drink, which includes wine. The workers were very helpful and kind. The area felt safe in the castle district. You could walk around at night and felt safe. There's a vending machine room at the end of the road that's 24 hours. After 10pm the castle district sorta shuts down and if you want to eat you have to walk outside of it. It's like a 10 min walk to the nearest Spar that shuts at 9pm. There's also a Burger King 10 mins away too. You do have to walk down a steep hill to walk out the castle district then you obviously would have to walk back up it. But we don't regret choosing that hotel because of the great service and peaceful, safe area it was in. If you're a solo female traveller it'd be good for you. The room itself was lovely. Air conditioning was perfect! Shower was big. Bathroom was lovely. TV is limited. Alot of Hungarian TV. Only BBC news channel for english. So alot of pros and only a few cons like limited vegetarian breakfast and no kettle. But that is really it.

Perfect oasis in Budapest
What a wonderful place. We loved every moment of staying here. Having a room off the main courtyard was just so nice to be able to enjoy the bistro for breakfast and dinner. Hotel room is super clean and we'll oriented for a home away from home feeling.

I stayed at the Maison for three nights. The location on Castle Hill is wonderful. My room was very nice and I enjoyed the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. The staff was very helpful in arranging airport transfers (extra cost). I would definitely stay again!

Memorable Stay
The service provided was the best I have ever received. The staff are proud of their hotel and do everything to make your stay memorable. They provide helpful recommendations for guests, arrange transport and in my case a well prepared breakfast bag as I was taking a very early train.My room was spacious with a very comfortable bed and very good air conditioning. The area of Castle Hill is a very historic and special area and still very accessable to cross the Danube by tram or bus or walking. I highly recommend staying here and enjoy the very good restaurant and extensive wine list.

This is the place to stay in Budapest. I’m so glad to find it. I have been traveling to BP since the late 80s and lived there four years, and have been in MaNY hotels there. This unique boutique hotel is amazing in its decor, service and overall experience. Excellent food. Wow factor aesthetically speaking. Outstanding service - the staff have loads of experience and love helping the guests. There was even a snag when I left my back pack in the taxi. The reception called the taxi personally and I had it back in less than 15 minutes. Location is on Castle, not next to shops. It’s quiet, but has all the iconic views of the city as you walk about. You’ll want the day pass to use the bus and metro. The bus is steps from the hotel. Enjoy.
