It was great except one thing, they said the restaurant downstairs was completely booked the day I got there. No issue, just the day after I tried to eat there again and they said only groups can eat there that day. It was kind of like, ok I guess I don’t get to eat. Other than that it was great.

This was my first time to Budapest. This hotel is a little way out from the river and what appeared to be the ‘nicer’ end of Pest. Nearer the river was more tourist friendly with nice restaurants and just the general feel was more appealing. Around this hotel, the area was a bit run down and not as nice. I would not stay here again. The room was spacious and clean. However, I found some staff helpful and others just rude. During breakfast, one staff member started rambling at me in Hungarian, which I didn’t understand, but it would appear she was hacked off from where I took my coffee cup! She then proceeded to grab, yes grab, my arm to tell me off like a child. Thought I was a guest! On my final day, I was subjected to house keeping entering the room at 10am, without knocking, despite check out being at 12. Thankfully, I was dressed! I felt maybe some staff needed to be a little more customer focused. Taking everything into consideration, I won’t be returning to this hotel.

Intercity is a clean and modern hotel almost adjacent to the central train station. It’s a bit of a walk to the old town and the sights and nightlife there, but it pays off to be 2 minutes from the train station. And there is a wonderful restaurant - Rosenstein’s - that’s literally around the corner.

The staff here were very helpful after we booked this hotel last minute after arriving at another hotel that was falsely advertised. The staff were kind, and helped us with many questions about navigating the city. The room was clean and modern. The food at the buffet was delicious. Finding this hotel last minute was a relief and saved the rest of the trip from being stressful. To go to the city centre, we did have to take taxis. The streets felt somewhat unsafe at night and to walk back and forth from the hotel also in 30° heat would be unbearable. The hotel staff were able to book the taxis for us and show us the driver/car/license plate etc. In advance. I appreciated this feature. The room I was in was also wheelchair accessible which I thought was great.

Property was nice, close to the keleti train station, and the subway station. Convenient for getting around. The area around the hotel is a little run down, but the hotel itself looks newly renovated.
