"This is our favorite hotel in the U.P., we’ve been staying at it almost 20 years now. They are currently renovating, but it was still clean and quiet."
Boarders Inn & Suites by Cobblestone Hotels - Munising
8/10 Good
"Hotel was overall clean and recently updated, although main level hall and our room had an unidentified odor. Unsure if odor (not strong but present, and my sense of smell is strong) was from the new furniture and paint or if those odors were masking an underlying, perhaps somewhat musty smell, but with the temps warming outside hopefully they’ll be able to open it up and air it out, as we opened our window in our room to circulate in some fresh air and all was fine. Pool area was clean and welcoming, no overpowering chemical smell, and is kept open well past most other hotel chain pool hours, enabling us to enjoy the hot tub after returning from our daily excursions. Greatly appreciated!!
Beds were a bit small, full rather than queen, so sharing with my 6ft+ husband was challenging and a bit too firm for my comfort with a bad shoulder, but ultra clean bedding, mattresses and pillows. Breakfast was sufficient offering delicious banana bread waffle batter and the super friendly staff kept the items plentiful thru serving hours. The eating area was bright and clean with comfortable seating, doubles as a bar and tasting room although we were not around to enjoy that, but on busy days you may need to take your breakfast meal back to your room for a lack of table seating in the serving area. Overall a great hotel with great amenities, great location and good price point. We’d definitely chose to stay here again!"
"We loved Roam Inn. Everything about it was fantastic but what we loved most was that it was clean, quiet, and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was unexpected and an a great start to our day before hiking and kayaking. We walked to food and beer several evenings. We also ate at Tracey's for dinner and it was excellent. Munising is a great little town. If you are a couple traveling, we highly recommend Roam Inn."
"The rooms were somewhat old and outdated, but clean. We got bumped to another hotel in their group, but the view of the harbour outside the door was serene and worthwhile."
"It's an old roadside motel that's been updated. It's an old building where you can hear conversations in the room next door and people walking above you. Everything was clean, for sure. But the age of the place is showing. My bathtub had a huge patch job on the bottom and the shower head had blocks of wood holding it into the wall. Two floors with no elevator. Water pressure was lacking and the water smells like metal, which I honestly don't blame them for. Just know the area you're in. Everyone was super nice, but I guess I'm just spoiled by modern hotels. I'll just stay in Marquette next time."
