Visiting Bruges in Belgium for the first time and I'm like a child in a candy store. Though, the chocolatiers will give you a run for your money. Belgian Chocolate is divine. Grab a map, grab your camera, phone or friend and take a walk. Following the walks on the map will take you to Historical Windmills and along canals where the boats take tourists on tours. My advice. Walk! A cafe or two might be in order also. Enjoy! #belgium #history #water

A few steps from the main square and shopping streets. Also river cruise just around the corner. Plenty of restaurants to choose from . Just be aware that almost all meals come with chips/fries and vegetables and potatoes are almost impossible to find.

When I posted a first photo of the beguinage 2 weeks ago, there were hardly any flowers. Now, in the 2nd week of March, the ground is covered with a sea of daffodils. The 'Princely Beguinage Ten Wijngaarde' with its white-coloured house fronts and tranquil convent garden was founded in 1245. This little piece of world heritage was once the home of the beguines, emancipated lay-women who nevertheless led a pious and celibate life.
