  • The Basilica of the Holy Blood is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Bruges, Belgium. Originally built in the 12th century as the chapel of the residence of the Count of Flanders, the church houses a venerated relic of the Holy Blood allegedly collected by Joseph of Arimathea and brought from the Holy Land by Thierry of Alsace, Count of Flanders. Built between 1134 and 1157, it was promoted to minor basilica in 1923. The 12th-century basilica is located in the Burg square and consists of a lower and upper chapel. The lower chapel dedicated to St. Basil the Great is a dark Romanesque structure that remains virtually unchanged. The venerated relic is in the upper chapel, which was rebuilt in the Gothic style during the 16th century and renovated multiple times during the 19th century in Gothic Revival style. Helt fantastik ophold på The Secret Garden. Navnet siger alt. Vi nød værelset - poolen og ikke mindst morgenmaden serveret i haven var dejlig. Samtidig perfekt beliggenhed i forhold til byen og stadig i et roligt kvarter. Ville gerne have været der længere men alt var desværre optaget. Så glad for at vi lige fik en overnatning. Vi kommer bestemt igen. Samtidig så skal Heidi også have 5 store stjerner - hold op en service og imødekommenhed :-) så kan bestemt anbefale et besøg her og i Brugge som er en helt fantastisk by

Perfect romantic getaway!

Wonderful location with a great proximity to the town center yet enough distance for a quiet and peaceful environment. Heidi welcomes you into these quaint and cozy accommodations and provides a personalized breakfast. The property is perfectly maintained and beautifully decorated. The living room fireplace and indoor hot tub add a special ambiance for a romantic evening and the rooms are spacious.

Grwat little hotel with very homey suites

Very clean hotel, with fantastic rooms. It is a very snall hotel with just a few rooms, so it feels very homey. There is a small are with a hot tub, and a littlw stocked bar, and they use the honor system for when you take drinks. I will for sure return!

Great, small B&B with excellent staff that fully accommodated our needs. Heidi and Natalie were awesome. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and the common room had a lovely fireplace. We made use of the hot tub, but it was a bit too cool to use the pool. Secret Garden is in a great location within a 10 min walk of all central old Bruges, but far enough out on the fringe to not be overrun with tourists.

Beautiful Room and Stay in Brugges!

The accommodation was amazing. Beautifully made up, spacious and with a fire to make the evenings really cosy if you stayed in, or when you return from out. The BB also has a lovely hot tub in one of the downstairs room which is on at all times so you're able to make use of whenever you like. Breakfast was a small buffet with a choice of cooked eggs, but plentiful to set you up for the day. Even a glass of free champagne was offered if you wanted! The location is lovely, down a quiet street pedestrian street right next to the canal, but still within 5 mins walking distance to the main square. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend if you're looking to visit Brugges.
