  • The Basilica of the Holy Blood is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Bruges, Belgium. Originally built in the 12th century as the chapel of the residence of the Count of Flanders, the church houses a venerated relic of the Holy Blood allegedly collected by Joseph of Arimathea and brought from the Holy Land by Thierry of Alsace, Count of Flanders. Built between 1134 and 1157, it was promoted to minor basilica in 1923. The 12th-century basilica is located in the Burg square and consists of a lower and upper chapel. The lower chapel dedicated to St. Basil the Great is a dark Romanesque structure that remains virtually unchanged. The venerated relic is in the upper chapel, which was rebuilt in the Gothic style during the 16th century and renovated multiple times during the 19th century in Gothic Revival style. Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium, in the northwest of the country. The historic city centre is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO. Along with a few other canal-based northern cities, such as Amsterdam, it is sometimes referred to as The Venice of the North. Bruges has a significant economic importance thanks to its port and was once one of the world's chief commercial cities. Alojamiento relacion calidad precio recomendable.

Casa situada a 10 minutos caminando del centro historico de Brujas, relacion calidad precio muy bien, personal muy atento y agradable. Si pongo un pero es baño bastante pequeño y con algun olor a tuberias.

This was like a bed and breakfast kind of. The man that let us in was nice, not real talkative. The room was cute. Nice bed. Good bathroom. Right outside the room was a teapot, milk, coffee , tea and sugar which was nice, you can have breakfast there for an extra fee of 14 euro. I would recommend. There is a free parking a short walk from place but hard to find.

Hyggeligt og uformelt guesthouse. Hjælpsomme og imødekommende værter. Dejlig og rigelig morgenmad. Rimelig afstand til centrum, men lidt besværlig parkering. Pænt og rent. Eneste minus var toilettet. Lejligheden lugtede meget af kloak. Vi påtalte det, og personalet skurede det hele med klorin. Desværre med begrænset effekt.

Впечатления от отеля хорошие. Очень дружелюбный и всегда интересующийся, не нужно ли ещё что-либо, персонал. Благодаря большим окнам, в номере очень светло. Всегда доступны чайник и микроволновая печь. И что не маловажно для Брюгге, бесплатная парковка в 5 минутах ходьбы от гостиницы. До исторического центра - 20 минут пешком, по красивым улицам, совсем не далеко.

Great little guesthouse

Great little guesthouse house within walking distance of Bruges. The owner (Ambrose) was knowledgeable about the local area and friendly. Definitely recommend.

This picture of the hotel doesn't show it at it's best. We had a really lovely room and enjoyed our breakfasts along with the chats with Ambrose the proprietor. A little way out of the city centre but easy to reach either walking or bus.

Need to have a working mobile phone to get in as the owner was not present. Inside door handle broken off but could be attached to door to let yourself out when found. Otherwise it was comfortable. There is a 2% credit card surcharge.

Sehr hübsch eingerichtet und freundlicher Empfang durch den Eigentümer. Leider ist das Leitungswasser nicht nur nicht trinkbar, sondern auch deutlich gelb verfärbt, was man an fleckigen Duschwannne, Handtüchern und Fingernägeln merkte.

Pleasant little guesthouse

We enjoyed our stay at Guesthouse Pickery. It's only a 20 minute walk from the centre and our room was large, clean and comfortable. Very good value for money! They also have a very friendly cat called Nero who immediately made friends with us!
