"The staff is always friendly and efficient. The rooms are spacious, clean and have very comfortable beds. The breakfast is wonderful with a variety of hot and cold items."
"The room was clean and smells good. The view very nice, the beach was beautiful. Our room had a view of the ocean. The staff friendly. I just wish they had more options for breakfast. Maybe oatmeal can be added. Menu was mostly Mexican fare tortilla wrap."
"We had a wonderful room with both garden and ocean views at this beautiful property. Our private patio, complete with two chairs, was the perfect spot to spend the evening listening to the waves and stargazing. We could have stayed out there all night!
There was a small amount of construction on the grounds — it appeared they were refurbishing a water feature that will be a lovely addition once complete. It was a minor inconvenience that didn't detract from our stay at all.
Since we arrived having already eaten dinner, we didn't get a chance to try the restaurant, but the aromas coming from the kitchen were very tempting. We'll definitely make a point of dining there next time!
Ragged Point Inn and Resort — a stunning retreat we'd happily return to."
"Because we used to love her. But it's all over now. The Morgan was our go-to several times a year, and always on New Year's eve. Although "shabby chic", the four Junior Suites boasted the best bathtubs, deep soak, and fireplaces.
The prices were fair and the location was only a few minutes from Cambria, Hearst Castle and Ragged Point.
A couple of weeks ago, we were unable to get one of our suites, even well in advance. So for almost twice the price, were given a small, somewhat grimy room with a large ceiling portion cut out from water damage. A spider actually bit my husband.
Late, after we had fallen asleep the first night, there was a huge commotion of people trampling and yelling, stomping, slamming... It seems a tour bus of foreign tourists had arrived. The next morning they proceeded to act like Locust and grab up every crumb and drop of the continental breakfast that is provided daily. The breakfast is usually quite decent. This time, an ignorant woman almost knocked my husband into the next hotel by slamming open a door right into him, completely oblivious.
Upon returning home, I checked out their calendar to find that all of their prices have gone up at least double and almost none of the rooms were available. Ever. I can only surmise this is become a tour bus stop. I also heard that the hotel has been sold. We will find another place to love and meanwhile hope that they paint the Morgan a decent color. The current color is an eyesore."
