"No staff so cannot comment on staff. It is a contactless hotel. As long as you have paid in advance you will receive an email with the key for the front door and room around 15:00 on the day of arrival. The room was fine, clean and tidy, with an okay shower with okay water pressure, and coffee machine. Restaurant closes at 19:00 daily, with last orders at 18:00, so not very useful if you are looking for food. Breakfast starts at 8am, which is very late for breakfast, with a very limited selection. One of my colleagues room door did not close/lock, there are no staff around so no one was able to help fix the issue. He ended up taking his luggage out with him every day."

"zaan hotel was just great for us. We had the cheapest room but it fine for us. Bathroom awesome, loved the shower. Location great. ,2 minutes walk to train. Restaurants and shops very close by. Breakfast disappointing as hot items not hot but lots of choice for cold items. Supper in restaurant really good and so great not to have to walk anywhere after a tiring day in Amsterdam. The sort of park between hotel and train station a bit off putting, people drinking and smoking but they are harmless so you get used to it. Grocery store across the parking lot with great salads etc."

"The hotel was very basic, but had everything we needed. The self check-in was easy to follow. When we arrived, our shower was broken, but the staff were excellent and replaced it while we were out for the day. It was located very close to Zaandam station and was a perfect base for visiting Amsterdam each day."

"We really enjoyed our stay here. Really close to the North Station, just a couple of minutes walk. Made it really easy to get into the centre. The food court area at the main station was great, we had a little one with us and had dinner there most nights, lots of great food options. Hotel was clean, of a good standard and staff were all really friendly - would recommend and stay here again. "
