The Resort @ Dolphin Heads"We arrived and there was no one at reception. It looked as if the place had been abandoned. There was a message on the desk to ring a number for service and after two attempts the call went to voicemail. My partner made another attempt to get a reply from that number. We received instructions on how to find our room which we eventually did. The room was ok but there was no wifi, neither of the bed lamps worked. The bar and restaurant were closed and we did not see any staff during our stay....

Breakfast included was non existent. 1 small milk for 3 days, no refill on toilet paper, coffee etc. I did a 3 day sporting Australian Event and had to throw all my food and all drinks were frozen solid. Avoid. Spend the $, it will save you in the end"

Motel Northview Mackay"This is an older style motel but the rooms are clean, roomy and the bed is comfortable with crisp, white sheets and pillows. Nothing fancy with this motel but everything works and for an overnight stay with a small dog, it is ideal. The only unusual element is that the office is not open for check-in. You call a phone number and a woman talks you through where to find the key and your room number. We didn't need to talk directly to staff so no problem for us."
