Top Birr Castle Hotel Reviews
Kinnitty Castle Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"The castle alone was really nice. They were doing renovations so the dinning area was closed. Only the dungeon Bar was open. I was a little disappointed with that and planned a nice evening dinning. The library bar was closed at night due to under staff. Which again I could of stayed in the dungeon bar but the library would of been a nice evening event. Overall, I would recommend people to stay there. They stated the other areas in the castle should be open soon. We went for a couple of walks in the trails which were nice. The horses are put away for the winter."
The Malt Store
8/10 Good
"There was a lot of messages to read and i found the automated "virtual" check in and check out a bit clunky and unintuitive. I had to phone recepgion for help with both processes. I prechecked in and wojld have benefitted from a confirmation stating my key would be waiting. Coffee machine but no coffee. Post the WiFi and password more prominently"
Radisson Blu Hotel, Athlone
10/10 Excellent
"Very clean room! Excellent staff. Good breakfast. Restaurant waiters not very responsive. No personality/interaction. Left food at table and never returned. Had to go to bar myself to get condiments etc. Bar staff very nice."
Sheraton Athlone Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"There was a major leak in hotel Friday Night The staff in the end were pretty helpful With all the guests Thanks again for helping us safe"
Midlands Park Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely hotel but the complimentary water near the lift was horrible. Had to pay €22 euro for car parking which we didn’t know about. Would be better if included in the pricing. Other than that was a pleasant stay."
Abbey Court
8/10 Good
"I needed a fridge & no room service"
Dooly's Hotel
8/10 Good
"It's a decent place to stay. The staff is great. Just aging and so many little details in poor condition. And now this isn't the hotels fault per say but very noisy. Walls were paper thin and could hear other rooms talking and TV playing. Heater was on in my bathroom and the knob was broken so couldn't turn it off."
The Ring Farmhouse
10/10 Excellent
"Pleasant lounge Made to feel welcome Excellent breakfast - HOT cooked food home made scones. Not much nearby apart from a village pub with good food and Birr Castle"
